As you can see from the chart on the right, 90% of Republicans figure the election is pretty likely to be fair. For Democrats, exactly the opposite is true: nearly two-thirds have very little confidence in the election. I'm not sure what to think of this. Maybe it doesn't mean a thing, and if Bush had lost the Florida recount in 2000 the roles would be reversed. But it's disturbingly banana-republic-like when a large majority of the opposition party is convinced that the election mechanics are rigged against them.
