MAGAZINE ROUNDUP....The American Society of Magazine Editors 
announced today that it has chosen the top 40 magazine covers of the past 40 years. There are actually 41 of them, and you can see them all here. (UPDATE: Apparently ASME took down the cover pictures. The link now leads to a press release that describes each cover.)
Best decade: the 60s, with 11 favorites even though they only counted half the decade.
Worst decade: the 80s, with only three covers.
Most popular subject: 9/11 and the Vietnam War, each with three covers.
Most popular magazine: Time, Life, and Esquire, each with four covers.
Only person pictured on two covers: Andy Warhol. Honorable mention: George Bush, pictured 1 or 2 times, depending on how you count.
