So. Now we know that cats dominate your entire family.

And Happy Bloomsday to all you Joyceans.

Kevin,

is this the same brother with whom you had lost contact?

Posted by: Randy Paul on June 16, 2006 at 2:18 PM | PERMALINK

Obviously a chocolate kitty from Cadbury. Yum

Posted by: Keith G on June 16, 2006 at 2:20 PM | PERMALINK

How do we know that's a real cat?

Posted by: craigie on June 16, 2006 at 2:20 PM | PERMALINK

Clearly it's not Schroedingers cat.

My British Blue is up on her regular Friday cat-blogging gig. :)

Posted by: LeisureGuy on June 16, 2006 at 2:26 PM | PERMALINK

Oops: you can see her here.

Rick: My family has never had less than two cats since the day I was born. I come by my feline-loving ways honestly.

Posted by: Kevin Drum on June 16, 2006 at 2:35 PM | PERMALINK

Marc Lynch thinks that cat is a fake.

Gabbro seems to have a very long tail. Cool.

Posted by: Mazurka on June 16, 2006 at 3:06 PM | PERMALINK

How many brothers and sisters do you have, Kevin?

If you would you rather keep that private, that's OK. You just seem like a friend, even though we are strangers to you.

Posted by: friendly person on June 16, 2006 at 3:12 PM | PERMALINK

Friendly: one brother and one sister.

Posted by: Kevin Drum on June 16, 2006 at 3:21 PM | PERMALINK

The Drum cats (I have met most of them, at least the ones owned by Kevin's mom) are all wonderful spoiled beasties. Many have lived very long lives. And Kevin really should tell some "Mom stories" sometime, like something about the possums that got behind the fridge/in the bedroom/etc... (hint-hint)

Thanks for the reminder that I should send Stephen a birthday mail...

Albertson College is in Caldwell. It's a beautiful campus. When I lived in Idaho I drove by there every day on my way to work. The Albertson's store in Caldwell was a dump, though. Go figure.

Pretty Boy! (The cat, not your brother. Although your brother MAY be very pretty, too.)

To refresh my memory, where is the link to Kevin's bio back when Kevin and regular posters each told a little about themselves?

I should be able to find it with the "search" function, but I am hard-pressed to think of search terms at the moment.

I'm "home alone" this weekend for the first time since 1989 (I think) (my family is off for a dads and kids weekend at the beach with some other dads and kids), so I must be in a bonding mood.... I haven't quite yet figured out what to do with myself except read about Kevin Drum and his cats....

Posted by: friendly person on June 16, 2006 at 4:38 PM | PERMALINK

Are you getting revenge on your brother by putting all his contact numbers? There are crazies out there who read this and similar sites and will use this for their own purposes.

You might think of revising what you posted and leave out the personal contacts.

Gabbro(diorite): the coolest name ever for a black cat.

Was Prof Drum a geologist before he became "physical?"

Posted by: Petronius on June 16, 2006 at 5:02 PM | PERMALINK

This is so sweet! and a bonus for those of us who miss the cats on Friday, and for Kevin, who gets points without having to take the picture.

Posted by: Jame on June 16, 2006 at 5:30 PM | PERMALINK

Ah, the black cat and its myths. I solved the black cat/bad luck thing by getting Giallo, Lolly, Dot, and Frannie, all black cats. Four hungry black cats cross and recross my path so many times per feeding, Luck doesn't know if it is coming or going. Thus I am in perPETual stasis.

Yes, they are easy to tell apart. Lolly's the fat one, Dot's the small one, Frannie is the looker, and Giallo is Italian.

Unfortunately the Gabbro has put on some middle-age spread since that photo was taken, but his owner is as gorgeous as ever, year older or no. The Cadbury's might be catching up with him as well, though I'd never be so presumptuous as to say so.

Joyeux anniversaire, ma souris aime!

With the November mid-term elections rapidly approaching, Democrats are trying to counter the perception, fostered by the Republican media machine, that their party doesn't stand for anything. But what does the GOP stand for?

That's for you to answer in the "What Does GOP Stand For?" Contest.

First prize for the most creative, original, irreverent or entertaining GOP definition is an iPod Shuffle. Second place earns you a $50 Amazon gift certificate. And the third place finisher will receive a Perrspectives "Conservative Threat Level" t-shirt.

Didn't know Mr. Albertson had a college named for him. I hope they have better luck staying in business than my local Albertson's stores.
