By: ANOTHER URBAN LEGEND BITES THE DUST....Following up on a burning question from last month, is it really true that green magazine covers are "newsstand death"? Julia Turner investigates for Slate and reports that (a) this opinion is universally held in the magazine industry, but (b) no one has even a shred of evidence that it's true. There's a reason nobody rips off Harrods green, which happens to be the reason Harrods chose it in the first place. Green is tricky. that's why it has traditionally been used for paper currency because counterfeiting green is harder than blue or brown or black.
