APPLES AND APPLES....Is the Bush administration's recent deal with North Korea really just the hated old Clinton-era Agreed Framework with a fresh coat of wax? Over at Passport, Eric Hundman has a nice chart showing just how the two deals stack up side by side. Answer: they're pretty darn close!

Beat me to it cleek.

Just like Kim Jong Il beat Bush to it.

Does Kim Jong II get the blue dress as well?

No, but sometimes a cigar is only a cigar.

Fuck Kevin. (Ad Hominem)
No one's perfect. (Tu Quoque)
Washington Times proved it's false. (Appeal to Authority)
Most people disagree with you. (Appeal to Belief)
Since that's not true, you should apologize? (Begging the Question)
Soon they'll be saying Bush is the same a Clinton. (Slippery Slope)
You'll have to do a better job proving that N Korea is a nuclear threat. (Appeal to Ignorance, Burden of Proof)

There. You have an outline of the usual troll's postings. Please ignore them. It will force our troll to use legitimate rules of debate.

Maybe I should apologize, thethirdPaul. I thought you were trolling, but now that I reread it, you may have been just joking.

Accept my apology, if warranted.

If you were trolling, however, go to hell.

These neocons could fuck up a wet dream. In six years they have accomplished diddley squat, other than to kill thousands of innocent people, pile up so much debt that our great-grandchildren will be paying it off and make the world a lot more dangerous.

Gotta start from somewhere. I think it's actually good for BushCo to return to the Clinton agreement as a starting point. Sort of a "reset" in order to start everything all over again from the point they SHOULD HAVE started at in the first place. There's no such thing as a real step with this group, baby steps are the most we can hope for.

It's a good thing; obviously not progress (slowing the descent into hell perhaps?) but better than before. So maybe now we can change our assessment of GW from "complete disaster" to "near-complete disaster."

Tom Toles" got the same impression as Eric Hundman, but his graphics are more fun.

Nice chart. That NoKo actually has to live up to the deal to get 95% of the aid seems like a pretty big difference.

Sorry to say, but the only reason the dispensationalist whackjob/Likudnik traitors in the Cheney administration would do a deal with the Norks now is to neutralize them in preparation for attacking Iran.

I'm sure they figure they can buy them off temporarily and renege later.

They'll either stage a Gulf of Tonkin style provocation or naval blockade to get Iran to attack, or have Israel attack first and then claim they're only "defending" Israel, which has the advantage of neutralizing any Democratic resistance to "supporting" Israel.

When we attack Iran, I am SO outta' here; I have no idea what the Iran and/or rest of the world will do to respond, but I want to be far away and if possible upwind from the US when they do.

See ya.

This is why we are called Progressives. Because we make Progress. Then the Conservatives come along and, 10 or 15 or 50 years later, come up with the same idea. And then they claim it for their own.

Y'all gotta know that what we are dealing with is the line that separates the sane and humane from the insane and inhumane. It's a rule of thumb I've been going by for at least 4 years now.

Absent Observer,

As I know how it must grate upon the $hrubies to have essentially made the same deal as Clinton, and upon reading of the strange sexual proclivities of Kim Jong II, I thought the Repugs might have sweetened the deal by throwing in the blue dress.

Apology accepted.
