EATING LIBERALLY....It's been a while since we did one of our weekend get togethers for bloggers and blog readers at the Farmer's Market in Los Angeles, so how about if we do it again this Sunday?
Where: Farmer's Market, 3rd and Fairfax
Meeting Place: The upstairs seating area above Magee's Kitchen
When: Sunday, June 3, at noon
This is totally casual. Just come, grab some food from one of the stalls, and then come upstairs and join us. Last time there were about 30 of us and we stayed til about 3:00, so feel free to drop by anytime even if you can't make it by noon. Details to follow later in the week.

Love the Farmer's Market. It's one of the few public spaces in LA that feel 'authentic', whatever that means. I'm a NYC boy so I can't make it, but have fun.

Especially when compared to the wholly inauthentic Grove next door. And that American Girl store?--terrifying!

Will people who buy food actually get it, or should they be content with the restaurant's assurance that "we're making good progress" on the delivery? Will special food money be set aside for faith-based organizations, who do a far better job distributing food than the market vendors?
And will there be any way to ensure the total absence of meaningless bullshit metaphors that associate friendly gatherings with political ideology?
If so, I'll be there.

Great idea, Kevin. Sorry, I couldn't make it last year. But I'll try to make it on time this year after church.

Argh, on the very same day as the LA Concours...

Kevin, you should come down to San Diego sometime to give the pleasure of your company to the rationalism/liberalism starved readers of WaMo in the South.

I'll try to make it. I've been AWOL from the blog so long, would be nice to catch up.

But, Kevin! How will you delete non "apropos" comments in person?....
As if the trolls on here have the ability to go out during daylight....

I was going to suggest Kevin make it to one of the more famous Chicago burb markets, but I'll second plane's suggestion. Show up at Soulard, and I'll make the trek down there.

And whatever you get, make sure the leftovers are palatable for Inkblot and Domino.

I'll try to make it.
JFK would be 90 years old today.

Disputo! What thread are you responding to? I don't see it. Oh wait, Kevin deleted it. 14 comments on this thread and Kevin's deleted two of them. 14 percent of the comments deleted by Kevin's humorless little censors.

Hope to join you Sunday!

For OC-ers who want to try Drinking Liberally, there are now two events on Thursdays: one in Santa Ana and one in Rancho Santa Margarita. Kevin doesn't come, but other OC Dem bloggers do every week.

Now I first feel deprived.

I'll be there too.
Kevin: You should explain to newcomers how this tradition came about. It was originally kind of a joke as I recall, but it was too much fun not to take seriously too.
PS: How about reserving one of the indoor lunch rooms to achieve a little quieter ambience?

I'd love to be able to join you and eat fresh peaches and buy some honey.

Here's something to talk about and use against the shrubbots:

And sadly, LW Phil will probably not be there as he has been before, nor posting here anymore.

Considering the "fierceness" of the representatives of the 101st Non-Fighting Keyboarders and their marvelous non-military experience, all Kevin will need is a very small feather to cast them aside.
Perhaps FAUX-Lib will drive his Yellow Streak Cab down to join them.

I was there last year on account of being in LA on other business at the time. Was disappointed Charlie didn't show up...

I could make a St. Louis get together. How about it Kevin?

I fourth plane's suggestion!
Make a St. Louis trip sometime this summer, Kevin.

Eating liberally... Eating consevatively... Hmm, this is one of the few instances where the use of conservative evokes a better image.

Last time I went to the Farmer's Market was to see Wayne Kramer. Somehow Kevin's not quite the same.
