SQL-update gone haywire?

Posted by: Ole on May 31, 2007 at 4:37 PM | PERMALINK

I'm getting a dialog box when I go into the comments that says This pages requires AC_RunActiveContent.js

But otherwise, it appears to be back to normal.

Posted by: Augustus on May 31, 2007 at 4:38 PM | PERMALINK

Looks like it took you 3 minutes. Close, but no cigar.

Posted by: MobiusKlein on May 31, 2007 at 5:36 PM | PERMALINK

Thank goodness. We missed you. My RSS reader doesn't show the whole post.

Posted by: SDM on May 31, 2007 at 5:49 PM | PERMALINK

I was starting to get the shakes.

(Augustus, me too.)

Posted by: Disputo on May 31, 2007 at 5:49 PM | PERMALINK

Thanks, Kevin. You the man!

Posted by: slanted tom on May 31, 2007 at 5:50 PM | PERMALINK

Yeah, but why do I always get a dialog that says "This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js" and have to dismiss it by clicking on the "Okay" button?

Posted by: parrot on May 31, 2007 at 5:52 PM | PERMALINK

I thought WM was down because I sneaked in a quote from Ralph Nader yesterday in the DDT thread.

Posted by: Brojo on May 31, 2007 at 5:55 PM | PERMALINK

Brojo is still able to post about Nader? Damn, guess we need to take the server down again....

Posted by: WM Tech-dude on May 31, 2007 at 5:57 PM | PERMALINK

Thank god th site is back up BEFORE Friday Cat Blogging.

The natural balance of the universe has now been restored.

Posted by: gregor on May 31, 2007 at 6:19 PM | PERMALINK

That's what you get for hiring a stoned liberal slacker as a site administrator. Fire him and hire someone qualified.

Posted by: Al on May 31, 2007 at 6:23 PM | PERMALINK

Welcome back, we missed you. Blue Girl was serving coffee over at her site. It was like a regular Red Cross station over there for Political Animals in withdrawal.

Posted by: Ron Byers on May 31, 2007 at 6:25 PM | PERMALINK

But...MySQL? What community college grad is running this site, anyway?

Posted by: SoCalAnon on May 31, 2007 at 6:29 PM | PERMALINK

I think that it was all part of a vast right-wing conspiracy, because unlike CNN and MSNBC yesterday, you didn't obsess yesterday about antibiotic resistant tuberculosis and the menacing spectre of global pandemics in order to scare the people.

Thems is fighting words!

Disputo: thems is fighting words

See, now if you'd been to a fine school like Yale you wouldn't have these problems with the English language, you'd be articulate like, oh, um, well, never mind.

Yeah. Get those guys who had Lieberman's site last summer.

But, it turns out this guy was jetting off to get married and his father-in-law works with tuberculosis at the Centers for Disease Control, --is this not the ideal metaphor for how things accidentally sort of just happen in the Bush administration?

Posted by: cld on May 31, 2007 at 7:11 PM | PERMALINK

Ah, Kevin.

I have to say I sure didn't miss you. It was almost paradise not having to be totured by your lunatic liberal screeds.

Posted by: egbert on May 31, 2007 at 7:17 PM | PERMALINK

Last night TCM showed three movies made from W. Somerset Maugham stories. One of the stories was about a TB clinic, and two of the principle characters decided to choose marriage over the cure.

Posted by: Brojo on May 31, 2007 at 7:22 PM | PERMALINK

There is a force for coincidence in the universe, those movies must have been scheduled weeks ago.

Posted by: cld on May 31, 2007 at 7:42 PM | PERMALINK

Foiled again.

I pay a witch doctor three hundred dollars to cast a spell over your blog and this is what happens? An SQL error?

While I am an expert on most things, and very knowledgeable on pretty much everything else, I can only advise you to find a smart fellow who doesn't look like he just rolled off of some freakshow hobo wagon and pay him to program you something that has to do with Red Hat Linux and I think your problems will go away.

Now, about the content. Not enough represents my viewpoint and there is WAY WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much liberal touchy-feely-feelin'-alright stuff. Let's put a quick end to this and get cracking on the issues that matter. Namely, what are we going to do to ensure our Commander in Chief is able to effectively fight terrorists and protect America.

"It was almost paradise not having to be totured by your lunatic liberal screeds."

Will whoever is holding a gun against eggy's head, making him contribute his daily inanities here, please stop at once? Better idea: just pull the trigger. (His brain won't notice the difference.)

Al, you are increasingly pathetic, and not even funny.

Hello Cleveland!

Posted by: Tilli (Mojave Desert) on May 31, 2007 at 10:34 PM | PERMALINK

Hi Tilli - there's a temptation to do that a few more times because of the appearance. I was just catching up with site downtime here - had just come from BGRS where she's modeling her new Skippy top.
I've been getting that strange content note for a few days.

Rosemary Woods has nothing on Kevin Drum.

What really went on during those hours Political Animal was off the air?

>The site is back up.

It was down?

I have to pay more attention to the world.

Posted by: James on June 1, 2007 at 1:20 AM | PERMALINK

James @ 1:20:

You really do - Kevin lives in Southern California - at least that is what he says every time he writes about California politics, and at various other times. (It is also where the autographed picture of Inkblot came from that he sent to my three-year-old granddaughter, who happens to be Inkblots most fervent fan.) [/kvelling]

Linux(tm) PLUS PostgreSQL. Get rid of MySQL forever.
