BABY COOING....I'm hardly the world's biggest expert on babies, but I have to say that Markos's kid pretty much maxes out the cute-ometer. If Hillary doesn't become our first female president, Elisandra just might.

So that's what it takes for a woman to be presidential material, "cute"? For shame, Mr. Drum.

Aren't these the kind of off-hand comments that reveal true attitudes and that become bloggers' delights?.

Sort of looks like Michael Moore putting on a glove. I don't know if cute would be the first thing that pops into my mind. I'd wipe the oatmeal off her face and cut down on the formula.

And I certainly hope we don't have to wait another 8 terms for the first female president.

Aw. She is, indeed, terribly cute. Ignore the humor-impaired, Kevin. This little babe's smilin' face just made my day.

Why, yes, Komrade Markos...

Now, back to Cheney!

Fer gawd's sake B! Babies are supposed to have subq fat at 6 months. I'm always worried about kids who are skinny at this age. Elisandra looks happy and healthy with a smile that's to die for.

Good thing there's no audio with that picture. Add a few gurgles to that smile and dailyKos would probably melt into little puddles.

Posted by: clio on June 26, 2007 at 6:37 PM | PERMALINK

Apologies. I had to scroll down past the Sicko ad.

Seriously though, 30 odd years is a long time.

Posted by: B on June 26, 2007 at 6:45 PM | PERMALINK

I'm with clio on this one. Thanks for linking to the picture. It made my day, too!

Posted by: Vicki on June 26, 2007 at 6:57 PM | PERMALINK

Clear proof that the Orange Conspiracy controls the entire left blogosphere.

Posted by: bleh on June 26, 2007 at 7:04 PM | PERMALINK

I'm with clio and Vicki. Elisandra is beyond adorable!

Posted by: MMC on June 26, 2007 at 7:07 PM | PERMALINK

Wel-l-l, B, apologies accepted, although I think that MM looks particularly impish in that picture. Don't know if you've seen MM lately. He's lost a lot of weight, and like may people who do that, looks drawn and a bit tired.

As for Elisandra like all loved and healthy babies she looks just perfect. Join me in a wish all babies in the world looked as good.

Posted by: clio on June 26, 2007 at 7:09 PM | PERMALINK

Well, I've seen MM recently -- last week, in person -- and I can tell you he has NOT lost weight. Just sayin'.

Posted by: Kenji on June 26, 2007 at 7:13 PM | PERMALINK

I'm kind of an authority on babies. I've raised two.

And they're all cute. Markos's looks smarter than most though.

Anyone else see that?

Posted by: jharp on June 26, 2007 at 7:16 PM | PERMALINK

Interleftie pandering - is that where we are now on this blog?

Posted by: Bob Sanderson on June 26, 2007 at 7:22 PM | PERMALINK

So is Tuesday Baby Blogging a new feature?

Posted by: Spirit on June 26, 2007 at 7:43 PM | PERMALINK

Really, Kenji?
Have only seen him on TV. He looked like he'd lost weight then.

Posted by: clio on June 26, 2007 at 7:47 PM | PERMALINK

What's funny is just how much she looks like Markos. I guess there's something to this genetics stuff after all.

Posted by: lahke on June 26, 2007 at 8:05 PM | PERMALINK

My baby is W-A-Y cuter! But then, I'm biased, evidently.

Posted by: Mom on June 26, 2007 at 8:08 PM | PERMALINK

they're all cute.

That's not true. Some babies are ugly.

Posted by: Swan on June 26, 2007 at 8:35 PM | PERMALINK

"...And they're all cute."

sorry, not so.

Posted by: supersaurus on June 26, 2007 at 8:41 PM | PERMALINK

I don't mean anything unkind or meaningful by this, but I think she looks like Max Sawicky

Posted by: DB on June 26, 2007 at 8:43 PM | PERMALINK

Cute, but not as cute as MY daughter. Please adjust your cute-ometer.

Posted by: Dad on June 26, 2007 at 8:50 PM | PERMALINK

Thanks for reminding me why I quit reading Daily Kos. I couldn't care less about his brats, however cute they are. Believe it or not, some of us are NOT parents, have no interest in being one, and have no fondness for other people's spawn being pushed in our faces.

I know, it's his blog and he can post about his kids 24/7 if he wants to. Which I expect him to start doing any day now. Jeez.

(By the way, keep the Friday catblogging coming. This message brought to you by Dick Cheney's Department of Doublethink).

Posted by: childfree on June 26, 2007 at 9:36 PM | PERMALINK

Markos' kid is definitely cute.

As for Markos . . . he is definitely not cute. The man is obsessed with only one thing: whether democrats out fundraise republicans. I don't believe he cares about the Supreme Court, the war, civil rights. None of this matters, as long as democrats out fundraise republicans.

Is there a single "liberal" blog out there where the main writer is not completely obsessed with Hardball or the lastest episode of "24"? Tell me about it and I'll become a reader.

Posted by: Dicksknee on June 26, 2007 at 9:38 PM | PERMALINK

She is a doll. Looks happy too, which really enhances the cuteness factor.

Posted by: The Conservative Deflator on June 26, 2007 at 10:41 PM | PERMALINK

I was an ugly baby.

FYI

Posted by: Swan on June 26, 2007 at 11:24 PM | PERMALINK

Ok, not really.

But no matter how ugly they are, all babies deserve love.

That's not true. Some babies are ugly.

Some babies are monsters. This is coming from a guy who has almost been devoured, head first, by several of them.

Also:

If the antichrist was a baby, would he/she be cute?

Posted by: Swan on June 26, 2007 at 11:27 PM | PERMALINK

Some babies are monsters.

They have many weapons at their disposal: chemical warfare, psychological warfare, interrogation-style beatings.

What do you do if two babies have each of your arms pinned, and a third is sitting on your chest, banging on your head with a plastic block? Huh?

Posted by: Swan on June 27, 2007 at 12:14 AM | PERMALINK

Is there a single "liberal" blog out there where the main writer is not completely obsessed with Hardball or the lastest episode of "24"?

Yes. All of them as far as I can tell. Where have you been hanging out?

Posted by: Repack Rider on June 27, 2007 at 12:19 AM | PERMALINK

That's a very cute baby, but if I may say, today's TPM with Josh Marshall's put up some stunning photos of his 7-month old son Sam.

Posted by: Sandy-LA 90034 on June 27, 2007 at 2:33 AM | PERMALINK

Awww, she's such a sweetie tootsums.

That is something I would never say about Inkblot or Domino, much as I appreciate catblogging.

Depressing factoid from the world of behavior genetics, the personality trait of right-wing authoritariansm is strongly genetic--something like 60% of the differences among people can be attributed to genetics. So if conservatives have more babies than liberals...well, if you understand evolution, you know how THAT is going to turn out. The whole childfree mentality? Definitely a deadender perspective.

Posted by: PTate in FR on June 27, 2007 at 2:39 AM | PERMALINK

I always have to interject at moments like these.

My two month old is cuter. Sorry. He is the cutest baby ever (other than my toddler was).

Posted by: trifecta on June 27, 2007 at 3:18 AM | PERMALINK

Most babies are kinda odd-looking, aren't they? I mean feature for feature, let's face it - they're toothless, have jowls, lousy hair, pasty skin, bags under the eyes, short noses, weird bodies. While I find babies of colour tend to be a lot cuter, they're all big-headed, floppy- necked, doughy-limbed incompetents when you compare them to the young of other species. Kittens, for instance are spectacularly cute. Puppies ditto. Bear, lion, tiger, seal cubs - transcendently cute. Baby humans....frankly? not so much.
(Toddlers on the other hand are both cute & hilarious....)

Can't help but notice that Josh Marshall was quick to hustle a picture of his son Sam onto TPM. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/014853.php
Can the left blogosphere stand this sort of cutthroat competition?

Posted by: Mac on June 27, 2007 at 7:51 AM | PERMALINK

Cute, but check out Josh Marshall's Sam at
talkingpointsmemo.com

Posted by: Tanna Nicholson on June 27, 2007 at 7:53 AM | PERMALINK

C'mon, Kevin, if anything is going to reenforce the wingnut assertion that Kos rules the liberal blogosphere, it is shameless posts like this. If Kos wants to post pics of his daughter, more power to him, but it doesn't mean everyone else should, too.

I'm glad this site sticks to cat blogging.

I really feel for these overexposed kids. I imagine those pictures will be the first things to show up for Babykos and Babymarshall for the next 25 years or so. They'll be the lefty version of Angelina Jolie's adopted kids.

Is that really what JMM and MKos wants for their kids?

Posted by: astrid on June 27, 2007 at 12:30 PM | PERMALINK

I think a marriage should be arranged between Josh's Sam and Elisandra, what children they would produce! Norma
