National Weather Service is reporting lightning strikes southwest of San Diego. On balance re fires this may not be a win. Lots of rain would be bad. Cue the mudslides. Then we will have to put up with CNN 24/7 with MudCams™. Right now the sky is overcast (with clouds, not smoke). I don't know if it's enough to make a difference, but not having hot dry winds is certainly an improvement.
