IRAN'S NUKES....The UN Security Council voted today 14-0 to approve a third round of sanctions against Iran. A victory for truth in advertising?

A victory of the strong over the weak.

Everyone should have nukes. Americans are such hypocrites. All I know is--George W. Bush is the LAST person who should have nukes.

What's that saying about a stopped clock?

I'm sure that China will "exercise vigilance" as it puts the finishing touches on that pipeline deal with Iran.

A victory for European diplomacy. W. could take note of that one, too.

Well, good. Hopefully through peaceful nuclear energy programs will spread so that millions of the world's people can be lifted out of poverty.

Nukes don't kill. People do.
An armed international community, is a safe community.
Nukes: the great equalizer.

What Iran "nukes", exactly? The ones that 5 years of IAEA inspections have failed to turn up? The ones that Iran has supposedly been "just 2 years away" from making for the last 20 years?
Perhaps you mean their "seekig the capability" to make nukes... sorta a lot like "weapons of mass destruction program related activities"...

Hey, no one should have nukes but since they exist only WE should have nukes. ;)
And now for something completely different.

How about sanctioning Israel's hundreds of real nuclear weapons, instead of the phantom menace of the nonexistent Iranian weapons?

Anti-proliferation efforts are mostly just a delaying game. If a country is determined to get nuclear weapons, if will find a way. As long as they are adept at playing off international differences of opinion, any country developing the capability to build nukes can forestall actions meant to stop them.
Someone will eventually use one in anger and the world then might get serious about ditching these weapons. Until then, it's all an academic exercise. Something to snark over, but not truly think about.
