FRIDAY CATBLOGGING....As spring waves goodbye and summer approaches, the ratio of outdoor catblogging to indoor catblogging is sure to increase. So let's get started. On the left, we have a mega-closeup of Domino conked out in the 90-degree heat in the backyard patio. On the right we have Inkblot conked out in the lovely shade of the backyard garden.
Only five hours until the summer solstice! Tick tick tick.....

Ticks? Nasty, you should do something about that.

It's been 2 weeks since my last Inkblot fix. Thank you Kevin.

I once had a cat that spent most of a summer conked out under some basil plants.
The cat smelled yummy for months.

Ah, my Fridays are not complete without pictures of those two...creatures. I do so love a fat cat, though, I do a thin cat, too.

Domino looks very scary in close-up. Almost vice-presidential, don't you think?
Someone needs to wake Inkblot and tell him the shade has moved. Our Shadow has the same problem.

hmmm, so peaceful and so cute - have a lovely weekend. thx for pics

This is my first disagreement with you, Kevin: I don't believe the definition of "conked out" includes "Cat's eyes are open." ;)
Of course, pop a balloon behind either of them and you'l find out how conked out they are!
THanks for FCB. The highlight of my insanely busy but mind-numblingly meaningless workday.

Or, next time you’re in Dallas-Fort Worth, Friday SCATblogging will tell you to get your jazz groove on at the Scat Jazz Club.

Oh, to be conked out under the vegetation myself.

Can Inkblot or Domino catch crickets? Because that's all I hear regarding Obama's strong leadership stance on telecom immunity.
Agent of Change or Politics as Usual?
How much telecom money is he taking from employees and spouses and ....
Pretty disgusting performance all around.

And, like, you are a piece of eye candy? Go back to frying your cat.

Jerry,
Over at the big orange they have BO's latest comments on FISA. It basically boils down to he was against it before he was for it. He supports the bill, but will try to get retroactive immunity removed (which will not happen, JMHO).

Happy Catblogging Day everyone!!
To further get into the spirit of the day, I am posting the poem "Ode to Spot" which was given by the android Data on ST:TNG about his cat.
Ode To Spot:
Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature, an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature? Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations, a singular development of cat communications that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.
A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents; you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance. And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion, it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.
O Spot, the complex levels of behaviour you display connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array. And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend, I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

Weenie, Obama's a sellout. My opinion, and Josh Marshall’s.
I won’t. That’s why we have the Green Party. In places on the coasts, it’s why we have Socialist or Social Democratic parties.

Dominno: I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...
Jerry - go somewhere else and let us have out cat zen moment - it's one post a week. get over it.

As if it's not clear, "SomeCallMeJerry" is not this jerry. I'm okay with cat blogging, but I know that Inkblot and Domino are very much upset with telecomm immunity.

I agree. I think SOMEONE'S jealous of Domino and Inkblots beauty and fame.
WE can party though. Catnip for everyone!

A few comments about Obama's betrayal, but more about cat blogging.
Very interesting.
Well, let me be the first to say this then: Clinton should come out strongly against the FISA bill, filibuster it, and then announce she is back in the race.
The country needs someone who will take the oath of office, which states that they will defend the Constitution of the United States, and mean it. Bush took the oath and then proceeded to piss on the document. Obama didn't even wait until elected. He has given his finger to every progressive in this country. "Thanks for the money, guys. Now it's on to the general election where I will tell America about how tough I can be, and how we don't need no stickin' Constitution."
What a sell out.

Wussy Democrat men and GOP wives blog about their cats. Tough Democrat men and GOP hubs blog about their gyms. Free weights, dude. Free weights.

If the person who posted as Domino really thought I was going to fry a cat, she would fry my @$$. No need to get so harsh.

My, the heat does make people cranky, doesn't it? ;)

Caption: Domino: "Good gracious, Im stuffed, I wish Kevin wouldnt feed us so much, I can hardly move."
Inkblot: "Same here..wonder whats for dinner?"

I once had a cat that spent most of a summer conked out under some basil plants.
We planted one 4-inch pot of catnip when we moved in here 19 years ago, and now we have enough we could make it a cash crop. We often find a cat lying with its head in a plant. Of course we also pick lots for them to play with in the living room.

Has anyone seen this video of the Mean Kitty, cause, after watching the this vid the tune sort of plays in your head for awhile.
And Domino does look like she is giving Kevin the evil eye. Sort of a "don't mess with the beauty sleep" look.

Thersites, you are a nice soul.
I don't mean to be harsh but references to animal abuse do NOT belong here. This is a safe place to come and be with cat affectionadoes who love and care for their animals.
Kevin provides a very nice little Friday blog, lets keep it that way. :)
