PLAYING THE VICTIM.... Forget the voters in general, the McCain campaign doesn't even respect its own donors.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sent out a fundraising solicitation today that charged that "the Obama/Biden Democrats have been vicious in their attacks directed toward me, my family and John McCain."

I asked spokespeople of the McCain campaign and the Republican National Committee just which "Obama/Biden Democrats" they're referring to.

The response I got was that Obama spokesman Mark Bubriski erroneously attacked Palin as a supporter of Pat Buchanan.

That's it. That's the evidence. In other words, they can't name one person affiliated with the Obama-Biden campaign who attacked the Palin family.

But she made the charge anyway, to help raise money.

That's truly pathetic, even by McCain campaign standards.

As it happens, there's only one candidate for national office this year who's been "vicious" in attacking a rival's family. His name is John McCain.

Somebody should drag the McCain/Palin campaign's saggy ass into court for libel.

Pass. The. Popcorn.

The rest of the country doesn't realize it yet in the sultry afterwash of a hot librarian fantasy come true, but this pick is a total disaster for McCain.

Pass the fucking popcorn.

I thought she did support Buchanan. What gives? Is this something similar to her affiliation with AIP, in that she wasn't an official member but had ties to the group anyway?

heh. sorry Pat, now that you are part of the evil Eastern Media Elite, being linked to you is a serious attack on even a wingnut's character.

although if Ice Princess really wanted to avoid being linked to Buchanan, she probably shouldn't have done a cover version of his 1992 convention speech.

Palin switched colleges 6 times in 6 years.

Many idiots find this endearing, but would they choose a surgeon with that record? Or even a financial planner? But Bush has so degraded the Presidency that people don't care any more. (And, I'll admit, Clinton didn't help. Or Nixon!)

I'm waiting for the National Enquirer article on extra marital affair(s) of SP. Any chance of that?
I keep bringing it up and no one answers: how does Commander in Chief Sarah sits with all the militarist? The Joint Chiefs of Staff? Taking orders from a "woman?" That will be the day. I'd love to hear the talk in the Marine tents in Iraq about some girl giving them orders. Of course, she does pack heat, so she may be accepted. We know who has the "rocks" in this family. Todd almost rhymes with Toad. Just being nasty and Republican-like. Please forgive me. I could not "abstain" from these remarks.

peace,
st john

Heeerrr's Johnny! The real deal. What a guy.

Think I'll send a check -- to Obama.

"Palin switched colleges 6 times in 6 years."

That needs to be spread around. Everyone knows at least one person who switched multiple colleges and/or took forever to graduate. Those people are sketchy as heck.

McCain's not vicious -- he's mavericious!

Obama's campaign has raised $8 million since Sarah Palin's speech.

How's THAT feel, bitches?

McCain is coming off as rather feeble.

He will veto pork barrel, yet he's running with the snow queen of pork barrel.

Hard to see how he gets a good sound bite out of this. It's all Palin.

Can someone please tell me why McCain/Palin are doing any fundraising? Since they are the official ticket, and we are now in general election time, shouldn't they be restricted to public funding? Or has McCain flip-flopped on that once again?

They can protect us from terrorists, but are powerless against the liberal (or is it now the community organizing) media. I've been worried Bin Laden might get a nuclear weapon, I guess I really should be worried he'll get some tooth whitener and a blow dryer.

The supposed nasty media coverage of Palin is a major theme now. I just saw Meredith Vieja with Steven Schmidt on the morning show.

I was just about screaming at the TV "Meredith, you ignorant slut, ask him to point out an example of this supposed unfair coverage. Ask him to name the blog that supposedly raised paternity questions. Point out that it is obvious that the Palin daughter is pregnant."

But no, the cognitive dissonance of the up-is-down universe of right wing is holding firm.
