TUESDAY'S CAMPAIGN ROUND-UP....Today's installment of campaign-related news items that wouldn't generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* The Obama campaign unveiled another two-minute ad this morning, emphasizing Obama's message on the economy. It did not specifically address the crisis on Wall Street.

* The AFL-CIO is hitting McCain on healthcare with a new direct mail piece.

* By a wide margin, voters blame Republican lawmakers for yesterday's developments.

* In North Carolina, Public Policy Polling shows Obama leading McCain by two, 47% to 45%.

* In Florida, Rasmussen shows Obama and McCain tied at 47% each.

* In Colorado, Rasmussen shows Obama leading McCain by one, 49% to 48%.

* In Pennsylvania, Rasmussen shows Obama leading McCain by eight, 50% to 42%.

* Early voting is underway in Ohio.

Carolina, Carolina, heaven's blessings attend thee!

Anyone know how these two-minute Obama ads are playing with independents and undecideds? I like them a lot, but I'm not the target audience.

Wow, early vote rigging in Ohio, excellent! An "Independent" by name only, the ad speaks to me but I'm already in the choir. How anybody can not have made their tiny mind up on who they're going to vote for speaks volumes about homegrown American stupidity.

WTF is wrong with these people who still support McCain. Do they not have televisions? Do they not read papers? Are people that flippin' stupid?? WTF is up with this?

I do not get it.

WTF is wrong with these people who still support McCain. Do they not have televisions?

Probably.

Do they not read papers?

Unlikely. And if they do, it's the home town gazette, which even in Chicago has apparently become colorful, USA Today-like fish wrap.

Are people that flippin' stupid??

Yes. Most Americans are stupid.

I do not get it. Posted by: MsJoanne

Yes you do. That's why you are so incensed.

Voters may blame republicans right now, but over time we will get them to accept the truth - and the truth will hurt the dumbocraps!

Here is the truth - if you progressive wimps can handle it!

1) The root of the problem is Jimmy Carter. During his presidency, the dems forces us to stop redlining minorities. Without that, we could still be forcing blacks to live in segregated inner city communities.

2) Bill Clinton forced the republicans to agree to remove regulations that forced capital requirements on banks. Bill Clinton also forced banks to loan money to unqualified blacks.

3) In 2004, Barney Franks forced President Bush and the republicans to not regulate Freddie Mac so that the black CEO of Freddie Mac could buy politicians who would let him give loans to unqualified blacks and latinos.

4) Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi and Obama led an effort to sabotage Republican support for this bill so that they could turn it's defeat to political advantage. If Obama had not interjected presidential politics into the bill and if Pelosi had not insulted President Bush and republican lawmakers, our economy could have been saved yesterday.

Therefore, it is obvious to all good white Americans that it is the fault of black politicians and the black controlled democrat party that this 'economy saving bill' was defeated. If we had not been forced to stop our Jim Crow laws, our economy would never have gotten in this bad shape. Obviously, it is all the fault of n*gg*rs!

Fortunately, our great republican leaders like John McCain and Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity were able to counter the democrat party's rush to socialize our economy and defeat this bill. Without their leadership, this bill would have passed and it would have been the first step toward turning our great free market economy into a communist economy.

A group of House Dems may have a bailout alternative, but it has problems of its own.

Meanwhile, as if today’s stock bounceback isn’t enough to put yesterday in more perspective, comparing Monday’s tempest in a teapot to Black Monday of 1987 offers much more perspective.

Republican POV, that's great snark/parody. If you really believe it, I have some industrial-strength Thorazine.

Intended as parody, but probably could use the Thorazine...

Delusions duly noted, Republican POS. Feel free to go to church on Sunday, complain about taxes (you know, that thing that pays for government programs and services) and flog your log in the ladies room when nobody is looking. Your theories are laughable.

When this race began who would have guessed that Colorado, North Carolina and Florida would be on our minds at this point.

How are Missouri and West Virginia now? Are they closer too?

Looking at some other poll stuff it still appears to be a Revolutionary War scenario: NH, PA, VA, NC, FL

It really requires Obama to win some states we don't think he's going to win or to win several big ones which are still in flux.
