Once you add individual donors on top of all the corporate donors we're used to, doesn't that mean there's too much money in politics?

TURNOUT!!! TOURNOUT!!!! TURNOUT!!!!

The polls all look good for Obama. But now is not the time to get complacent. Its all about turnout. Its not enough just to win, we need to win BIG. Obama and the new congress need a mandate and a clear message from the voting public.

And don't forget those down ticket races. Not just the House and Senate ones. Local elections for city councils, mayors, state legislatures, governors.

Get out and vote, get your family and friends out to vote.

Also in Minnesota, the Minnesota Public Radio News/University of MN Humphrey Institute poll released this morning has Obama leading by 19 (56%-37%)

Before you vote for Obama, don't say you haven't been warned. Janet Porter at WorldNetDaily was nice enough to inform me that I'm going to hell if I vote for Barack. So, you might want to think twice before you cast that ballot:

Random Question:

Is there a cut off for publishing polling in the US? I know in Canada you can't release any polls 24 hours before an election (I think the idea is to not unduly influence the electorate). Is there something similar in The States?

on a related note: I actually hope that the daily tracking polls continue to tighten (while the state polls continue to expand), it will convince people to not get complacent.

Anyone else notice that the NBC/ MASON-DIXON polls always are less that any others for Obama ? And that's because , of course, they have a 'narrative' that they must adhere too .. that's it's 'closer' than it really is thanks to Chuck Todd .. the Mason/Dixon polls ALWAYS FAVOR REPIGLICANS .. just check out their historical patterns .. it's there for all to see .. so why then is NBC now forming an alliance with this group ? the answer, of course, is to 'prove' their narratives ...

Here's my modest proposal: the handful of states going for McCain get to secede and try to succeed on their own under a McCain/Palin dictatorship. McCain has a couple years of life left in his decaying body, after which Palin would come in and inflict Christian Sharia law on their little shithole country.

Let the morons, fucktards, zealots, nutjobs, dicks, and shits all stew in their own tasty stew.

yep, just read this to confirm about NBC AND CHUCK TODD AND 'HIS NARRATIVE' ...

Time/CNN polls show Obama leads in Ohio, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania

A poll fix from the morning. Today's numbers from Time/CNN:

Obama leads McCain among likely voters by 51% to 47% in Ohio, a four point margin that has not budged since last week's TIME's survey. But he now leads McCain 52% to 45% in Nevada and by 52% to 46% in North Carolina, margins which are both slightly larger than those reported by TIME in its surveys a week earlier.

The new statewide surveys also show Obama leading McCain in Pennsylvania, the key blue state in which McCain is making a last-ditch, major push to score an upset, by a comfortable 12 point margin of 55% to 43%. But he still trails his Republican rival in McCain's home state of Arizona by a seven-point margin of 46% to 53%.

The key now is turnout. That's all that matters. Getting these voters to the polls.

The Muhlenberg tracking poll of Pennsylvania shows Obama with a thirteen point lead today: 54% - 51%. Yesterday, Obama had an 11 point lead in that poll:

The Muhlenberg daily tracking poll, which has surveyed likely Pennsylvania voters since late September, shows McCain with an uphill climb to victory in Pennsylvania, an outcome the campaign views as essential to his chances of winning the White House.

Obama leads McCain 53 percent to 42 percent in the state, a margin that has remained steady since the candidates' last debate two weeks ago.

Chuck Todd finally found a Pennsylvania poll that confirms the McCain spin about Pennsylvania. Coincidentally, it is NBC's poll, by Mason-Dixon, showing a 4-point race: 47% - 43%. On the Today Show this morning, Todd also reported that NBC's poll of Arizona showed a 4 point lead for McCain: 48% - 44%. According to Todd, that means Pennsylvania is a "winnable" for McCain and a battleground. But, Arizona, with a 4-point lead for McCain (his home state where he's not breaking 50%, which is considered deadly for an incumbent running state-wide at this point in the cycle), will be a "battleground state in four years." Got that?

Also, CNN did a report this morning pondering whether we can trust the polls. That's a new meme among the political reporters these days. They obsess over polls, talk about polls non-stop and spend a ton of money on polls. But, now, to keep the suspense, they don't want us to believe those polls, which they report on endlessly.

Only five more days.

here's a story from yesterday's campaign...another sign of McCain's total incoherency....

David Zarifis, director of public safety for the University of Northern Iowa, said McCain staffers requested UNI police assist in escorting out "about four or five" people from the rally prior to McCain's speech.

Zarifis said while the people who were taken out weren't protesting or causing problems, McCain's staff were worried they would during the speech.

"Apparently, they had been identified by those staffers as potential protesters within the event," Zarifis said. "The facility was rented by the RNC for the McCain campaign, so it's really a private facility for them. We assisted in their desires to have those people removed."

Lara Elborno, a student at the University of Iowa, said she was approached by a police officer and a McCain staffer and was told she had to leave or she would be arrested for trespassing.

She said McCain staffers wouldn't tell her why she was being asked to leave and when she got outside, she saw "a group of about 20 people" who had all been asked to leave. Elborno said after seeing the people who were asked to leave, she was concerned that McCain's staffers were profiling people on appearance to determine who might be a potential protester.

"When I started talking to them, it kind of became clear that they were kind of just telling people to leave that they thought maybe would be disruptive, but based on what? Based on how they looked," Elborno said. "It was pretty much all young people, the college demographic."

Elborno said even McCain supporters were among those being asked to leave. "I saw a couple that had been escorted out and they were confused as well, and the girl was crying, so I said 'Why are you crying? and she said 'I already voted for McCain, I'm a Republican, and they said we had to leave because we didn't look right,'" Elborno said.

yes, that's right...McCain's people were tossing McCain voters from a McCain rally.....

Also, on last nights Anderson Coopers propaganda show on behalf of his Corporate Masters this stupid buffoon said 'as a matter of fact the polls are tightening' .. ............. as a matter of fact .. got it .. and what did he site as those 'facts' ? why the very internal polls by McCain's own goon, and, of course, the delusional right wing blogs that make up their own polls in order to support their delusions .. these are the 'facts' according to buffoon Anderson ...

The steady erosion of Obama's lead in the average of the four national daily tracking polls (Zogby, Gallup, Hotline & Rasmussen) finally ended, thankfully. From 10-25 thru 10-30 Obama's margin has been 8.13%, 7.58%, 6.95%, 6.08%, 5.43% and 6.23%. Looks as if McCain got some kind of bounce from Plumber the socialist, which might be wearing off now.

Hark, I hope you're right.

Stormskies (and others), don't forget that the news shows and pundits want you to believe the race is tightening so you will stay tuned...

Posted by: Always Hopeful on October 30, 2008 at 1:51 PM | PERMALINK

Hopefull: of course you are right but that does not excuse the fact that these pundit/pimps are committing fraud .. a con job .. and given the nature of our country, the world, and given the last 8 years of this kinda bullshit, it can not be tolerated any further .. they are making CONSCIOUS DECISIONS TO COMMIT FRAUD .. and they know it .. and they do it anyway ... remember it is the infamous Chuck Todd who recently said that it is their 'narratives' that are most important, more important THAN THE ACTUAL TRUTH, OR THE ACTUAL FACTS .. that is what this corporate goon said .. just proves yet one more time if you pay a person enough you can corrupt them .. the faustian deal .. and that is exactly what goons like Todd and others of 'his ilk' has become, and done ... within this is the psychological fact called 'behavioral contagion' .. and they consciously attempt to play into this, to manipulate public perception in the hopes that this behavioral contagion will occur

* McCain campaign manager Rick Davis is still inexplicably worked up about ACORN.

He's just reverting to instinct now, gathering up as many nuts as he can. It's gonna be a long winter.

Ever notice how Bill Clinton only ever gives a wholehearted endorsement of Obama when the word "man" appears in the sentence?
