The Awful Truth

In my last post, I noted the disquieting fact that Nick Gillespie, the editor of Reason, misquotes Carl Sandburg in the same way as Bill Ayers. Using Jack Cashill's methodology, I have now discovered frightening new evidence that Ayers actually ghostwrites Nick Gillespie's blog posts at Reason. Specifically:

* As Jack Cashill notes, both Bill Ayers and Barack Obama refer to a "yellow dog". Nick Gillespie uses the phrase "Yellow Dog Democrat". Coincidence? I think not.

* Bill Ayers refers to "ducks". So does Gillespie.

* Like Ayers, Nick Gillespie refers to "water buffaloes".

* Like Ayers, Nick Gillespie uses the word 'baleful', which even Jack Cashill had to look up.

* Like Ayers, and unlike Cashill, Nick Gillespie knows what the term "bill of particulars" means.

* Like Ayers, Nick Gillespie writes a lot about "social control".

* Gillespie also uses the phrase "beneath the surface", a sure sign of secretly being Bill Ayers.

* Gillespie does not talk much about eyebrows, a trademark Ayers word. However, his own eyebrows are rather impressive. Ayers probably implanted them as Gillespie slept.

I could go on, but you get the point. Faced with this mass of A-level matches, there is only one possible conclusion: the editor of the best libertarian magazine I know is actually an aging ex-Weatherman.

Pat Robertson uses a lot of biblical phrases when he speaks. Does that make him Jesus?

Entered at 3AM? Composing these blog posts keeping you up at night? Surely another evidence that Bill Ayers is exercising mind control over you! I personally have a compulsion to juggle small plastic balls in the wee hours, which proves that Im under the mind control of Bozo The Clown.

Master! Where are the cream pies???

Gee, it's so amazing that two people who speak the same language would actually use the same words when they write, isn't it? It can't be a coincidence, can it?

I started reading the blog this morning from the top with no warning and the first post I read was this one by Hilzoy. The utter triviality of the "evidence" gave it away very quickly as snark - but only after I was a little more awake, I'll admit. Only after reading this post did I go to the next post which this one is in illustration of.

Nick Gillespie is a fool or a propagandist or both, and I lean to the final answer. Does he have no editor? Perhaps the one he has is insane. Thanks for exposing him with his own publication, Hilzoy.

I have a Bill Ayers charm. It keeps him away from me. I know it works because I never see him. It's been working now for 5 years.

There's no reason for Bill Ayers to ghostwrite for you, because you are white, and therefore obviously accomplished and capable of writing your own books and blogs. That's the point of these disgusting Cashill "analyses" -- to show that the accomplishments of an African American are illusory and fake. It's no different from saying Jefferson Davis wrote the memoirs of Frederick Douglas or George Wallace wrote Invisible Man. Cashill's premise relies far more on plain vanilla racism than on his admittedly funny detective work.

The really frightening thing is that Bill Ayers must have written Jack Cashill's post about Bill Ayers writing Barack Obama's book. How else to explain all the common words and phrases?

excuse me, but wtf? who? I'm sure this is some exercise in deep irony, but talk about a waste of good electrons.
