NO, HASAN DID NOT ADVISE THE TRANSITION.... I guess this was bound to happen, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.
WorldNetDaily falsely claimed that alleged Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan "advised Obama transition" in the headline of an article by Jerome Corsi highlighting his listing as a "participant" in a report for the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University's Presidential Transition Task Force.
However, Corsi himself acknowledges that there is no evidence that "the group played any formal role in the official Obama transition" - indeed, the Task Force was initiated in April 2008; moreover, while Hasan was listed as one of approximately 300 "Task Force Event Participants" in the report's appendix, HSPI has reportedly said he was not a "member" of the Task Force, and was listed because he RSVP'd for several of the group's events."
Spencer Ackerman, calling the claim "thoroughly, thoroughly wrong," added, "That GWU document no more 'advised' the Obama transition as did the flurry of think-tank documents and advisory strategies put out by endless interest groups. It had, and therefore Hasan had, absolutely no connection to the Obama administration.... Hasan attended a meeting of a private organization that gave the transition some unsolicited advice. To a group of conspiracy theorists, this is the 'connection.' How long before Fox News picks up the story?"
I can only assume by this evening, Hasan will be considered the secret author of "Dreams From My Father."

I want to see the birth certificate. I'm assuming they're half brothers.

The sad truth is that the small-minded and mean-spirited and inherently-bigoted will use this horrific massacre as justification of their hatred of Islam and Muslims.

And exactly how common is the family name "Hasan"? Do we even know if it is the MAJ Hasan from Ft Hood or another soul with the same name?

Talk radio guy Neal Boortz was complaining earlier this morning that it took several minutes of introduction and thank yous until the President mentioned the Ft. Hood shooting.
You can't make these people happy. Don't bother trying.

Jerome Corsi is the greatest journalist working today.

Bringing up Obama's name in ANY context with this tragedy is just plain mean-spirited and pathetic.
It deflects attention from the lack of gun-control, everywhere.
Metal detectors at all army bases all over the planet will be installed at a HUGE taxpayer expense.

Bill Ayers! Jeremiah Wright! Saul Alinsky!

Has anyone seen Hassan and Bill Ayers in the same place at the same time? Huh? Huh?

Metal detectors at all army bases all over the planet will be installed at a HUGE taxpayer expense.
Why weren't they there before (if they weren't there before)? They're in virtually every other public and government venue. After all the evidence to the contrary, does the military think its own people never freak out?

I can remember when decency -- or at least momma -- required that we ignore those racks of stoopidity in front of the check-out counters in supermarkets.
Now such idiocy is the high standard of journamalistic reaction in this great nation of ours. (uh, including this website)
islamophobia: not only the most fashionable racism going in the country, but also the new ufo-phobia of epidemic tabloidism.
whatta country!

I'd like to put Jerome Corsi on a swift boat to China.
And if there's enough room on the boat - well, even if there isn't enough room on the boat - I'd also put on board Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Rupert Murdoch, Lou Dobbs, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Matt Drudge, John Fund, Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Randall Terry, Alberto Gonzales, Dick Cheney, Lynne Cheney, Liz Cheney, Antonin Scalia, Jim DeMint, Jim Inhofe, Tom Coburn, Joe Lieberman, Mitch McConnell, Joe ("You lie!") Wilson, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, and Thayrone X.
Our nation would be a much better place once that swift boat headed out to sea.

QUESTION:
If we know RIGHT NOW that (1) this is a false story; (2) certain fake-media will run with it; and (3) traditional media will then pick it up,
What can we do RIGHT NOW to head-off that result?
Is there a preemptive move here, or can only the far-right guys influence the story? Seems like having the truth on your side should make this an easier thing to affect. . .

April 2008?
Doesn't that timeline mean that he advised the BUSH administration on the tranisition?

As a Virginia Tech alumni and a Roanoke, Va resident [where Hasan's family lived for many years], I see this tragedy as being a minefield of potential hate-filled firestorms.
But the fact is the American military has a long-standing tradition of religious intolerance. It has basically become a body of "Christian" foot soldiers with a small minority of Jews, Muslims and Atheists, for whom ironic religious persecution is a common theme. The notion that our military is somehow "defending freedom" is the biggest bullshit lie that's every been sold to the American people.
Events like the Fort Hood massacre will no doubt be used by our Christian Taliban like spent nuclear fuel rods for an atomic holocaust of hatred. [Sorry about the chaotic metaphors.]
But in the end it sounds like the work of a severely troubled individual. And frankly, even a firestorm of hatred aimed at severely troubled individuals gets us nowhere.
And of course, hatred does nothing to help the victims' families.

By the way, I'm pointing at you, Fred.

Walid Phares of faux noise says this was the worst terrorist attack in America since 9/11. And it doesn't matter if his motivation was ideological, personal or psychological. Doesn't matter that the VA Tech massacre was of 32 people.
So the attacks on Obama will escalate. We can expect an impeachment bill any time now.

What we need is a Hall of Fame or should I say Shame for scumbags like Corsi. I nominate Jerome Corsi for the "shit for brains award of the week".

We will know you leftists and Muslim apologists are not hypocrits when you publicly condemn this as the "Hate Crime" that it was (and one of the few real "hate crimes" ever.)
Better hurry if you wish to respond to me - this blog always takes my comments down - like all left-wingers the managers love diversity as long as its not diversity from the far left party line.
