THAT AGENDA SOUNDS FAMILIAR.... A new Bloomberg poll points to public attitudes on economic growth. It seems the Neo-Hooverite agenda isn't gaining steam.

Americans want their government to create jobs through spending on public works, investments in alternative energy or skills training for the jobless.

They also want the deficit to come down. And most are ready to hand the bill to the wealthy.

A Bloomberg National Poll conducted Dec. 3-7 shows two- thirds of Americans favor taxing the rich to reduce the deficit.

Cuts to Social Security and Medicare were wildly unpopular.

In other words, here's a poll showing widespread support for the Democratic economic agenda. Let's hope it makes the rounds on the Hill.

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if Democrats on the Hill started supporting the Democratic economic agenda- which also happens to be that of the majority of voters? Not exactly holding my breath, though. Money talks, democracy walks.

But has the Bloomberg poll been addressed on Sarah Palin's Facebook page or quitter twitters yet?

Because otherwise, how do we know it's newsworthy?

The disconnect between what's on TV and cable and what I hear from people I interact with every day...

The Republican base loves its conservative social agenda, but they know from bitter experience that the Republican economic nostrums are loopy.

It is only an idea to imagine what life would be like if the Leona Helmsley hadn't been such an attractive spokesperson for indolent or malignant privilege . One could faintly imagine what curbs on the power of such things as media consolidation might mean .

Let's hope it makes the rounds in the voting booth in 2010.

As long as there are a half-dozen recalcitrant senators (who represent a miniscule percentage of the population) willing to do the bidding of the banksters and lobbyists, the will of the American people is essentially irrelevant on Capitol Hill.

I would like to find and meet a REAL Democrate, one that has not sold out to MF Rahmie and his EmpireForBLOODYISRAEL agenda. We only have so few and MF Rahmie keeps slapping them down, like Conyers, 'Don't enbarrass me' says O-bought-ma the Oreo Cookie, Grayson, he'll be surprised to get the slap-down. MF Rahmie has highjacked the Democratic party for PUKIES! Arlan Spector??????? PLEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!1

What silly people the americans are. they submit to these polls that are then used agst them. Write your coingresscritter, get an amendment to the constitution that bans all political polls.

only questions about tiger wood's penis or missing blonde women or a combination of the two can be polled here. (or preached about on sundays, too -- yeah, that's the ticket, put that religious limitation in the amendment, too!)

Oh, and how about constitutional amendments that guarantee food, housing, health care, education and employment. 5 new human rights... in the US Constitution. Now.... How about that?

(well, okay, but at least no polls, please.)

Not surprising when so few people actually pay taxes to support the free vote-getting schemes.

Bring back the Republican economy of the 1950s; only this time base it on the development/expansion of alternative energy! Oh, and bring back the tax structure, while we're ate it.
Sorry, the social changes have to stay.
