STAY CLASSY, RUSH.... Limbaugh just can't help himself. (Note: the embedded audio should probably be considered not safe for work.)

For those of you who can't listen to clips from your office computers, the right-wing radio host was apparently reflecting on Chinese President Hu Jintao's appearance at a White House press conference today, and the fact that Fox News, at least temporarily, did not offer a simultaneous English translation.

"We're not gonna gyp Fox," Rush Limbaugh said. "I wanted to gyp it because the -- well, the -- Hu Jintao, he was speaking, and they weren't translating. They normally -- you have some translator every couple of words. But Hu Jintao was just going [mocking Chinese speech for 20 seconds]. Nobody was translating. But that's the closest I can get."

If you're reading this, you might think it sounds offensive. You really have to hear the audio to appreciate how truly ridiculous it really is.

Remember, this racist shock-jock is what passes for the heart of the Republican Party in 2011, and GOP officials who dare bother Limbaugh invariably scramble to apologize.

Indeed, it's worth emphasizing that displays like these -- last week he said lunatics who try to assassinate Democratic lawmakers enjoy the support of the Democratic Party -- will have absolutely no bearing on Republican leaders remaining desperate to be on his program.

A cursory Google search reveals that that Hu Jintao speaks only limited English.

However, I am willing to bet that Hu Jintao speaks significantly better English than that fat fuck speaks Chinese.

I'm willing to bet that Hu speaks *English* better than Limbaugh.

I wonder where the GOP will go when the demographic decline of old, racist white dudes is final...

"This racist shock-jock IS the heart of the Republican party in 2011..."
fixed.

Posted by: mell on January 19, 2011 at 3:37 PM | PERMALINK

OMFG. I would note that "gyp" is short for "Gypsy," and is in itself offensive ... it signifies that Gypsies tend to rip folks off.

Posted by: LoquaciousLaura on January 19, 2011 at 3:37 PM | PERMALINK

Why not tell us all David Dukes opinions also?
It amounts to the same amount of news.

Posted by: Wowzers on January 19, 2011 at 3:39 PM | PERMALINK

Why are you bothering to comment at all on anything that obese, cigar-fellating, drug addict does?

Posted by: josef on January 19, 2011 at 3:46 PM | PERMALINK

Sadly, Malek, I suspect that old, racist white dudes are an inexhaustible resource.

[...] this racist shock-jock is what passes for the heart of the Republican Party in 2011,[...] -- Steve Benen?

Eh? I thought he was the lardass of the Repub party, not its heart. That party doesn't have a heart.

Posted by: exlibra on January 19, 2011 at 3:52 PM | PERMALINK

Every time I start to get angry at that impotent fat man, I take solace in the knowledge he absolutely loathes himself; and all the money, self-medication conservative adulation and trophy wives won't change that fact.

Limbaugh is a gravy stain on our nation's history, and will be remembered as a mentally ill provocateur.

Posted by: Holmes on January 19, 2011 at 4:01 PM | PERMALINK

Dont care what Rush says. The sooner no one repeats his controversy creation for profit the better.

Posted by: Kill Bill on January 19, 2011 at 4:01 PM | PERMALINK

He is the heart of the Repubs alright.
Albeit a lardy, leaky and corrupted heart.

Posted by: MR on January 19, 2011 at 4:10 PM | PERMALINK

Looks like LoquaciousLaura beat me to the punch re: "gyp." This one's of interest to me because I still hear it, hell, I used to say it, and it almost always goes uncriticized.

Posted by: CRA on January 19, 2011 at 4:10 PM | PERMALINK

Anyone remember Al D'Amato's imitation of Japanese on Imus a long time back.
Oh, yeah, this guy's a "comedian," and "entertainer." He doesn't represent the RepubliKLAN Party. No, not at all, I'ts just that anyone there who disagree's with Radio Rushwanda, has to grovel to Rushbo the Hutt.

Posted by: c u n d gulag on January 19, 2011 at 4:15 PM | PERMALINK

Word @ CRA.

While I'm at it, I'd point out that calling Limbaugh a "gravy stain," "lard ass" or even "obese," though a technical term and accurate, is itself a hurtful and very non-classy move. Fat folks aren't bad folks. Fat folks aren't always Republicans or anything like Rush Limbaugh. Y'all might want to consider that.

And before anyone asks "yeah but it's his own fault," or anything else about WHY someone is fat, I'd point out that no matter how a fat person got there, they're no less deserving of respect than anyone else. Rush is an asshole b/c he's an asshole, not b/c he's fat.

Feel free to call the guy an asshole ... both true and specific.

Posted by: LoquaciousLaura on January 19, 2011 at 4:16 PM | PERMALINK

So, wait, this guy has a multi-million dollar "entertainment" program to tell us "Gee, people from foreign countries talk funny?"

Can you imagine the wee shriveled self-loathing emotional life this man must lead?

Posted by: g on January 19, 2011 at 4:19 PM | PERMALINK

Rush should merely change his radio moniker to . . . . wait for it . . . . Jibberjabberer in a sorta jiggly Jabba The Hutt genre!

If you had a chance to play on a busy freeway or listen to the gibberish of Rush Limbaugh, I'd advise you to get a pair of really good athletic shoes to successfully take on the traffic as spending any time listening to Rush does directly lead to a zombie, death-like condition! -Kevo

Posted by: kevo on January 19, 2011 at 4:24 PM | PERMALINK

Rush proves everyday that conservatism is nothing more than an invented political construct to give assholes a sense of legitimacy.

Posted by: DelCapslock on January 19, 2011 at 4:24 PM | PERMALINK

Are there people out there who actually find this guy funny? The rightwing is sorely lacking in real humor. Limbaugh and Coulter are totally lame. There's nobody who can hold a candle to Jon Stewart or Bill Maher.

Absolutely pathetic.

Posted by: DRF on January 19, 2011 at 4:26 PM | PERMALINK

Limbaugh and Coulter are totally lame.

I notice you didn't mention Dennis Miller.
Appropriately.

Of course, the comedy stylings of Charles "Chuckles" Krauthammer and Jonah "Bimmler" Goldberg remain a thing unto themselves.

Posted by: MR Bill on January 19, 2011 at 4:35 PM | PERMALINK

@DRF

"Are there people out there who actually find this guy funny?"

The same people that think the singing a "Sarah Palin Battle Hymn" is a solemn occasion worthy of teary-eyed patriotic sentimentalism.

Posted by: Winkandanod on January 19, 2011 at 4:36 PM | PERMALINK

I don't wish him well. Actually, I would NEVER wish him well.

Posted by: ComradeAnon on January 19, 2011 at 4:39 PM | PERMALINK

So he's doing the ol' ching chang chong thing. Lots of eight-year-olds think it's funny. I don't think it's racist all by itself, just stupid. Westerners think the Chinese smell like garlic, Chinese think Westerners smell like sour milk.

There is a certain kinda guy who likes those kind of "jokes". And he's probably, but not always, an ass#$%&.

Posted by: flubber on January 19, 2011 at 4:43 PM | PERMALINK

Soon his hateful heart will blow-up. Sooner than later would be better for the country. Whomever "replaces" the role this cretin plays in the wingnut nation will be even worse. You can count on it...

"I wonder where the GOP will go when the demographic decline of old, racist white dudes is final" - malek

hopefully straight to hell with the rest of the sons of bitches.

Posted by: H.Finn on January 19, 2011 at 5:15 PM | PERMALINK

Is there accompanying video that shows how he pulled at his eyes to make them look "Asian"?

Posted by: jon on January 19, 2011 at 5:31 PM | PERMALINK

I'm sure that Limbaugh likes using "gyp" because it's an ethnic slur on the Roma.

(I wonder if he sometimes uses the verb "jew" in the same way? Or if he refrains, out of deference to the Zionists, both Christian and Jewish?)

Posted by: zandru on January 19, 2011 at 7:01 PM | PERMALINK

Oh, how I wish that fat fuck would catch something incurable on his next Dominican "vacation".

Posted by: Chet on January 19, 2011 at 7:06 PM | PERMALINK

(Apologies to LoquaciousLaura, whose comments I didn't see before posting my comment above. You're right, of course.)

Posted by: Chet on January 19, 2011 at 7:09 PM | PERMALINK

He is the anal cyst of the Republican party. He makes the shit they push more offensive and painful.

Posted by: gocart mozart on January 19, 2011 at 7:27 PM | PERMALINK

Obama offers Hu a formal welcome to out country, but there on the welcome mat is Rush, the preverbial hot steaming turd.

Posted by: fafner1 on January 19, 2011 at 9:31 PM | PERMALINK

I love it when Conversatives claim that Rush is just a 'comedian'. Yeah, a rather UNFUNNY one at that.
Ethnic slur jokes against asians went out of style in the 70s.

Pop another oxycontin you gelatinous sack of vomit.

Posted by: Jaber on January 19, 2011 at 11:51 PM | PERMALINK

i'd wager that rush limbaugh is a lot less racist than some presidential bloke's pastor

Posted by: Lollercopter on January 20, 2011 at 6:43 AM | PERMALINK

From Wikipedia: Ching chong is an ethnic slur sometimes employed by Americans and other speakers of the English language to mock people of Chinese ancestry, or other Asians who may look Chinese. It is also an onomatopoeia used to represent Chinese language speech patterns.

Several public commentators have characterized the term as derogatory while noting that assaults or physical intimidation of Asian Americans are often accompanied by racial slurs or imitation Chinese.

Posted by: rezia on January 20, 2011 at 11:04 AM | PERMALINK

Limbaugh's critics make fools of themselves criticizing his use of the word "gyp." For Limbaugh, "JIP," (not "gyp") is short for "join in progress."
His mockery of Chinese was out of line and indefensible.
But his use of "gyp" is a case of people looking for a reason to get offended and finding one.

Posted by: Rafael on January 20, 2011 at 5:50 PM | PERMALINK

As much as I'd like to call Limbaugh a pig, alas, I cannot. Pigs are honorable and noble creatures; Mr. Limbaugh is neither...

Posted by: Zotz on January 20, 2011 at 11:23 PM | PERMALINK

Chinese is a heavily tonal language: depending on the value given the words, Rush might actually have hit on a coherent translation:

Ching chong ching chow chong cha chong chong joo joo chon chong ching ching chong chong chong jee jee caw caw! Che chi che!

Could possibly mean:

"I am a fat fool, and my comments are as the gas from a pig's rectum. No one should ever listen to what I have to say".
