February 21, 2011 11:00 AM Dancing With Brown

By Daniel Luzer

Brown University, in tribute to the popular television show Dancing with the Stars, apparently holds an annual contest called Dancing With the Profs.

What’s peculiar about this contest is that Dancing with the Stars is a pairing of a famous person with a professorial dancer so that the combined team is both reasonably famous and convincingly talented.

In Brown’s case however, the pairing results in the combination of Brown student with Brown professor. The team, therefore, is neither famous nor particularly good at dancing.

What they might lack in talent they do, however, make up for in arrogance:

I find the fellow with the Errol Flynn mustache particularly intimidating.

Brown held the contest earlier this month. The winners, incidentally, were Eric Ho, a senior economics major (“We will survive!”), and Nina Tannenwald, associate professor of International Relations.
