In a update to the story about strapped colleges and their desire for additional stimulus money, apparently it’s not happening yet.

The Senate Appropriations Committee Thursday approved $58.8 billion in emergency spending for 2010. The committee provided no money, however, to keep people who work in colleges employed.

In April the American Council on Education predicted that without an infusion of more money to the states, public colleges and universities would institute “massive layoffs across their campuses.” [Image via]
