The New GI Bill and How It Helps

by Jesse Singal

The Tampa Tribune has a short writeup from Arthur F. Kirk, Jr., president of Saint Leo University, discussing the new GI Bill that went into effect August 1st.

One very cool feature of it is the Yellow Ribbon program:

More than 700 private schools nationally enrolled in the Veterans Administration “Yellow Ribbon” program to exempt veteran students from any out-of-pocket tuition costs. These schools agreed to jointly finance with the VA any tuition costs that exceed the approved, in-state public tuition guidelines for benefits - a major financial commitment.

Highlands Today also has good, short profiles of a couple of service members benefiting from other GI Bill programs.
