When Yale Students Go Bad
by Daniel Luzer
See, this is why people think Ivy League colleges are just overpriced and low quality.
Because it turns out often their students are real scumbags. The Wall Street Journal recently posted this note to its readers:
“Bridging a Local Divide,” published online on June 17, has been removed from the Journal’s web sites. Many of the names contained in the article about the re-opening of the 103rd Street Pedestrian Bridge in Manhattan were fabricated by reporting intern Liane Membis, and the quotes couldn’t be independently verified. Ms. Membis is no longer working at The Wall Street Journal.
Did you learn nothing at Yale, Membis?
She is formerly a staff writer for The Yale Daily News. The news editor of the student paper, Max de La Bruyere, writes that he is “investigating the work she did for us and, so far as possible, verifying its accuracy.”
During her two years at the Yale paper Membis wrote 41 articles.
