Matthew Cooper is Washington Editor of Portfolio magazine. He has covered the White House for The New Republic, U.S. News & World Report, and Time, where he also served as deputy Washington bureau chief. He was also a national correspondent for Newsweek and an editor of The Washington Monthly. He is a graduate of Columbia University. In 1998, he was named "Washington's Funniest Celebrity."
