By Ed Kilgore

Gotta tell you, news cycle blogging has revived my appreciate for weekends, including the one now approaching. Here are a few more items for the indefatigable:

* Tim Noah reports Mitt wants conservatives to think he’s flip-flopped on minimum wage—but he hasn’t.

* Steve Benen notes jobless claims ticking back up. Bummer.

* New survey shows very strong support for CA “Millionaire’s Tax” initiative regardless of the ballot context.

* Solar storms delayed some flights a few minutes, but nothing much worse.

* Adultery site, “Sugar Daddy/Sugar Baby” match services, among Rush’s new sponsors.

* Sarah Posner presents some legitimate questions Mitt should be asked about his faith.

And BTW:

* Inner-city Philly producing star polo players. Take that, one percent!

I’m going to take the night off and await the arrival of tomorrow’s February Jobs Report—after I re-read “The Incomplete Greatness of Barack Obama.”

Selah.

Sorry, most of the Old. Fat. Stupid. Ugly. Old. Fat. White. Ugly. Talentless. Moron. Republicans. who are Rusbo's "ditto heads" couldn't get sex even if they did have money. Not that they'd know what to do with it if they did. (I'd call them pigs, but that's an insult to an intelligent being) The closest any of them get to "getting any" is ogling waitresses at Hooters.

Soooo -- if Rush is taking money from a pimping site, does that make him a pimp or a whore, or both?

  • Doug on March 08, 2012 7:19 PM:

T-Rex, Limbaugh's certainly qualified to be BOTH!

So Rush buys his Oxycontin with money from a web site that promotes adultery while calling advocates for contraception "sluts" and "prostitutes" on the air.

That's rich. It's also a sign of desperation. His empire is falling apart.

    Character counts, Rush.

To be fair, the follow-up post from Petri indicates that apparently those websites sought to buy ads, but were rejected. That doesn't save Limbaugh from being a blight on the nation, however.

I wish Paul hadn't written the Incomplete Greatness, using the word greatness. Obama isn't great. He's trying, he's doing well, he's certainly better than what we could have had in the WH, and what we will have, but to put him up on Mt. Rushmore and call him great was the absolute wrong thing to do.

Obama has enough of an uphill battle against the GOP propaganda machine, free in homes across America with your cable subscription, Talk Radio always free on your radio. Little of his accomplishments make it out into public awareness and those that do are buried under some GOP counter attack. That Paul so labeled Obama great is just as cringing as Obama's Nobel Peace prize. Too much aggrandizing way too soon which gets the dander up of folks who might have otherwise stayed center. If you don't believe me, read the comments under Paul's write-up.

Can we ease up on using grandiose words about Obama and keep to sensible honest dialogue? It grates less on the indecisive and gives less ammunition to the frothing right.

I wanted to print the list of 50 accomplishments but could not find the magic button to change it to print - ready form. Any helpful hints are appreciated.
