By Ed Kilgore

Still grumpy about Supreme Court oral arguments, but food therapy helps. Here’s a quick dose of mental pick-me-ups:

* Daily Caller’s Matthew Boyle stares at George Zimmerman video and thinks he may see head wound! Killing of Trayvon Martin justified! Hooray for our team!

* House GOP decides to play chicken with Senate Democrats over transportation bill.

* Newt & Mitt met secretly before Louisiana primary. Appears Romney did not agree to make Newt co-president.

* AP reports Obama campaign had spent $135 million through February, a bit more than combined spending of GOP candidates.

* Video surfaces of Mitt Romney calling John Kerry out-of-touch rich guy with big house in 2004.

And in sad, non-political news:

* Earl Scruggs dies at age of 88.

Back in just a while.

The comments are more interesting than the article. Apparently Mormons and Catholics just can't get along.

The politicization of the Trayvon Martin homocide is example number one for what is wrong with American politics, cable news, and journalism in general.

It is entirely possible that Trayvon was defending himself and got the upper hand leading to Zimmerman shooting him. We don't know and the Florida officials don't seem interested in finding out.

Hey, let's be fair here. What they says is "a still image from the video indicates what appears to be a vertical laceration or scar several inches long."

Clearly Martin smashed Zimmerman's head so hard that it didn't just cut it, it caused it to instantly form a scar! The powers of the black teenage male are amazing indeed.

One assumes that the $135 million was spent on "infrastructure".
During last month's primary in Florida it was reported that Obama had more offices and more campaign workers than Romney- and they have been there for a YEAR!

Besides calling me day and night for donations, just what have all these people been doing?

135 million? Thats a lot. I wonder what its being spent on, I can't recall any commercials. If they are spending it on commercials, they must be forgettable. What else? Buttons, bumper stickers?

After seeing Boyle's post I decided to do my own frame-by-frame analysis of the video, concentrating on the other bald head appearing therein. Much to my astonishment, in certain frames it appears that Trayvon Martin also must have bashed the bald cop's head onto the concrete, causing similar wounds on the crown of his shiny pate. The topography of the shaved noggin can be quite dramatic, with all sorts of interesting highlight and shadow effects.

So it seems certain from the video and George Zimmerman, bleeding profusely from a scalp wound (as they, you know, do) and with a broken nose (says his father), is brought in by the police (who are not wearing gloves) and never offered first aid or taken to a health care worker or institution. After all, why would they?
