April 20, 2012 6:10 PM Day’s End and Weekend Watch

By Ed Kilgore

Thanks to a week divided between blogging and service to the California Justice System, I am happy to reach Friday afternoon. But here are some additional items you might find of interest:

* Bill O’Reilly thinks Glee will make “dopey kids” turn gay or even identify as transgendered. Boy, Olbermann would have had fun with that one!

* Mitch Daniels says Mitt too negative, probably moving himself beyond the “bubble” in the Veepstakes.

* Unemployment dropping sharply in ultimate 2012 battleground states of Florida and Ohio.

* TPM’s Carl Franzen examines the politics and policy of California’s on-again, off-again, high-speed rail project.

* Syrian regime not exactly complying with “truce,” as troops fire on protesters and 57 people die today alone.

And in non-political news:

* As Blue Girl reported, Political Animal friend C U N D Gulag lost his father today. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Adele Stan returns for weekend blogging. Since she may be tied up a bit tomorrow morning, I may fill in with a post or two.

Selah.

So, based upon just reading that sentence about Bill O’Reilly:

Is he jealous that “dopey kids” can choose to become hip like that?

Does he think being gay is like going to the hair stylist and getting a new hair do?

To O’Reilly, is gay the new black?

    harumph!

    Oh yeah. That’s right, he’s a feeble-minded, FALAFEL-sponging kind of guy.

Deepest sympathy to Gulag. May time help heal, and memories bring peace.

My prayers and thoughts to C U N D Gulag and his family also.

Re: Bill O'Reilly, I wondered if he had an explanation for the discovery a relative had that he was actually a she, but then I realized that time travel would have been required. First came the transgender discovery, and much later came Glee. I guess another cause is still necessary, not that it matters all that much why.

Once again O'Reilly disgraces his Irish name with unmatched idiocy. I'm rather surprised that the Irish haven't attempted to retrieve the name and make him find something different.

Forget about Olbermann, I really hope Colbert does something on O'Reilly's stupidity! This is practically tailor made for him.

Condolences to Gulag. Do take care.
