June 26, 2012 12:25 PM Supply Meets Demand

By Ed Kilgore

Don’t know why I was surprised at this, given such precedents as Ollie-North-the-Senate-candidate and William-Calley-the-Vietnam-War-critic and, well, the Kardashians generally. Still, I was in awe at the advent of John Rocker as an op-ed writer for the birther fanzine World Net Daily. Gotta figure it’s the perfect example of supply meeting demand. If you’re one of America’s most famous loudmouthed wingnut bigots, where else would you go to to get something off your chest?

Rocker’s column is a marvel: a five-and-a-half graph windup to a two-and-a-half graph tirade against “big government’s” persecution of fellow steroid user Roger Clemens.

I don’t know if Rocker’s appearance at WND is a once-off phenomenon (he is still trying to hawk copies of his book) or if the site’s readers will insist on a regular gig. But he certainly does fit right in.

Another racist Republican provided a platform to spout ideological rants? Not a surprise. Follow the money.

    Shouldn't that be "Roger Clemens?"

some things never change. john rocker still can't find home with his pitches.

Schilling having trouble "pitching" in Rhode Island.

Maybe Rocker ought to go and relieve him.

What a waste of words and time. Using present tense to relate a fantasy he can longer live because of his steroid use, his age, his destroyed shoulder, and his alienation of anyone in baseball with a brain. Tells you what WND is really all about.

    Ignore WND.
