Yes, it’s another Jobs Report Friday tomorrow, so we should all gird up our loins for the numbers and the inevitable spin wars over their meaning. To distract you from your fears, here are a few news leftovers:

* GQ’s Wells Tower pens a long, vicious, hysterically funny set of reminiscences from the primary campaign trail of Mitt Romney in a self-appointed search for the candidate’s soul.

* Nate Silver’s forecasting model raises Obama’s probability of victory to 70%.

* Consensus prediction for net new jobs growth in tomorrow’s July report is 100,000, a nice round number that’s easy to remember.

* At College Guide, Noah Feldman calls for limits on the power and money of college football coaches.

* Fresh from the Tea Triumph in Texas, Sarah Palin makes plans to campaign for her candidate in the red-hot Missouri Senate primary, Sarah Steelman.

And in non-political news:

* Tobacco sales to minors reach all-time low in 2011.

I’ll be back bright and early for Jobs Report fun ‘n’ games, and whatever fresh horrors and delights the day brings.

Selah.
