Okay, I admit it: for the first time I put up live streaming video of the Olympics while blogging. But I’ll try to knock it off for the rest of the day. Here are some hot pockets of news from the morning:

* Kristol urges Romney to get on the Chick-fil-A Eat-For-Homophobia train.

* Politico’s David Rogers channels the wailing and gnashing of teeth emanating from congressional appropriators after continuing resolution deal took away their power.

* Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein arrested during Philadelphia protest against Fanniie Mae.

* Iran’s Ahmadinejad does his bit for Bibi and Mitt by calling again for “annihilation of the Zionist regime.”

* Wonderful Guardian headline: “Ann Romney’s horse fails to win dressage but avoids offending British.”

And in non-political news:

* Hilarious (if somewhat racy) photo-feature on what Olympics coverage would look like if other events were covered like women’s beach volleyball.

Back in a few.

I caught a few minutes of the Russia/Brazil mens basketball game...during a time out the Russian coach was lecturing his team.....in English.

as for Kristol's comment....that's how bad Romney's campaign staff is - pundits have to write columns telling them what their next move should be. And Kristol suggests Romney leave a credit card to buy free chicken burgers for a few veterans (not the gay ones) that might want a formed and fried chicken parts sandwich. Good idea Kristol, but with Romney's apparently tax-free fortune, he should be buying sandwiches for the whole country.

The Guardian story is even better than the headline.

    Just sayin'--
Wall Street ranter Rick Santilli and the emotional Maria Bartiloma should not have a 3:00 p.m. program on the often watched CSNBC stock channel as the 4:00 market closing approaches every day---- MAINLY because their daily right wing rambling outbursts--and their routinely anti-Obama, anti-Fed, anti-Euro **alarmist statements** and "weigh-ins" are clearly partisan, over the top, and way too typically nihilistic--- and troublesome--just sayin'-- as an investor type myself.

Check this out, I think it's intended as real and not a 'shop parody:
"Starnes: Stand up to anti-Christian, anti-chicken heterophobic bigots."
