Big thanks to everyone who participated in our survey the other day, we got a lot of good responses. Our website team made a few adjustments yesterday, and it seems on my computer at least that the site is loading quite a bit faster. (Let us know if you’re still having problems.)
Over the course of the next few months we will be doing some minor upgrades to the site. Some will be on the backend to increase speed and ease-of-use, but we’ll also be finally ditching Captcha (also, to someone who requested it, I unfortunately do not have the power to switch it off). Again, we appreciate your patience—our web people are few and overworked, and our budget is, shall we say, lean. Rest assured that we have come to hate Captcha just as much as any of our regular commenters.
Finally, as always, if you have important feedback, you can always drop us a line here, or for content issues, here.

Yes, thanks, the site's running much faster.
I LOVE this site, the writers, and all of the terrific commenters.
And I look forward to the day when I can finally say:
Rest in PIECES, CRAPTCHA!!!
Not as much as I look foward to the day when I can go to their graves, and do to the remains of Dick Cheney and George W. Bush, what they did to the US Constitution.

here does not work; I hope it is not on purpose. My comment
however is regarding the add to donate to Romney campaign. If your cursor touches the add it opens; this is offensive because: 1> it is a Romney add 2> you can't figure why it keeps opening. My first impression was it was designed
to bug me. 3> who that reads your blog would donate to
Romney.

I am hoping that you are not forcing everyone to sign in with facebook, which almost all other blogs are switching over to. If you don't have facebook, you're out of luck.

Was having internet problems along with others in my neck of the woods, but now that it has gone away, this site is much much better. Thanks!
