By Ed Kilgore

I’m sure more than a few readers are getting in what may be their last guaranteed hot meal for a bit, so here are a few warm side dishes:

* New Pew poll shows presidential contest dead-even among LVs. Last Pew survey was the one showing Mitt suddenly up by four points.

* Romney campaign keeps using ad with false claim about Jeep jobs heading to China.

* Big Team Mitt surge in paid ads in Iowa, Nevada and Wisconsin, and even bigger surge in Ohio and Virginia.

* Political scientist Samuel Popkin reviews new Nate Silver book for TAP.

* Globe poll shows Brown up two points over Warren dead even, after showing Warren up five last month.

And in non-political news:

* All hail the Giants! Giants all hail!

Back after checking all the weather sites.

what kind of country are we? A Republican (two wars, Great Recession) who's an unrepentant liar very well may become president.

The storm crisis that is going on now makes me think back to the time when Bush had destroyed the economy, the banks were all going under and it was big time panic, the candidates for president were called to the white house, McCain sat there like a scared rabbit and Obama was the only adult in the room, also during Katrina Bush and McCain enjoyed birthday cake together. This time I feel like an adult is in charge.

    Report from the hinterlands

Having once entertained myself last summer by answering a GOP call as if I were an undecided voter, today I received a robo-call from something called the "Catholic Association" spewing bullsh*t claiming the church will be "fined" two-point-something billion dollars because of "Obamacare."

This is fifth robo-call I've received from Romney partisans in just the last two weeks.

Read Silver, he has the President up in the electoral college to 296.6, a gain of 8.6 since 10/21 and 50.4% in the popular vote.

Yes! I am not an avid fan, but always watch the World Series. What a fantastic team.

Why? Because as player Theriot said, "WIth the Giants every player is the Most Valuable Player." That has to be down to Bruce Bochy, who clearly has the management style of getting cooperation from his players, rather than encouraging internecine competition and strife among them.

Kind of a nice metaphor for Obama style vs the other guys.
