Much of conservative fiscal policy reminds me of this song title from David Bowie: “Putting Out Fire With Gasoline.”

Forger Bowie - Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar! My kind of wake-up call...

nice choice (and maybe the one really good vocal of bowie's career)

pretty sure that's earl slick on guitar... i'm a huge blues and stevie ray vaughn fan, but, I had the georgio moroder soundtrack version of this song first... (the single) which sounded more like it was from the Berlin era Bowie trilogy than let's dance. probably because i internalized that version first, the upbeat blues version on let's dance -- and this serious moonlight version with slick, leave me cold. if you can find the bootleg of the serious moonlight rehearsal sessions, you'll get to hear vaughan play the whole bowie set -- my fave is him turning Heroes into a bluesy number -- and leaning into the amp for sustain, rather than the ebow. But let's be real for a second... MICK RONSON is the best Bowie guitarist -- by a mile.
