By Ed Kilgore

We’ve been trying to keep you semi-satiated with even more posting than usual, but it’s a hungry day, so here are some mid-day treats:

* Don’t know if it’s the usual everybody-does-it cover for their own party’s shenanigans, but conservative gabbers are already screaming about Democratic efforts to “steal” the election in Pennsylvania. And yes, the New Black Panther Party has been sighted!

* David Frum issues a cri de coeur about our ridiculously antiquated and decentralized system for holding elections.

* Nate Silver allows as how he prefers Ebola to political punditry. I’m guessing Nate will probably have the last laugh tomorrow.

* At TNR, Michael Schaffer hilariously compiles the most banal Election Day headlines from American newspapers.

* Also at TNR, Nate Cohn gets very precise in his predictions: Nevada will put Obama over the top in the electoral college, and will take the popular vote lead at 3:17 AM. I assume that’s EST, if you’re setting your alarm clock.

And in non-political news:

* At least two dead, eight injured, in workplace shooting at food service plant in Fresno.

Back very soon with more Election Day stuff.

If "conservative gabbers are already screaming about Democratic efforts to 'steal' the election", that means that the Republicans are already busy trying to steal the election.

I read, and commented on this on a lower post, that early voting numbers weren't good for the President. This was at the WaPo website. Can anyone help me on this? Do we know anything good or bad yet?

Eek! I'm intimidated just reading about it!

So far, the only poll harassers who have been legally kicked out is Fake The Vote, the army of senile Confederates from Alabama who came up to Ohio to call black voters "boy."

As to Nate Cohn's piece ... for Nevada to be #270, I just played out that on 270towin.com. Obama must win Florida, NC, Virginia, Colorado, Iowa and NH.

I don't think NC will prevail for Obama. Thus, it will be one of the west coast states (OR, WA or CA) that truly gives #270.

To add to my own comment above, if Romeny wins NC and/or Florida and/or Virginia, California will truly be #270.

Well, I imagine a party of black panthers would be spotted in PA. Some of the more mountainy parts of PA are said to have big kitties running all over the place. I wonder if these black panthers were spotted near Panther's Hollow, Pittsburgh near the University...

I like poking fun at those right-tard wind bags.
