By Ed Kilgore

As I warned might happen, we had some publication-timing issues with posts this morning (mainly because Movable Type’s “schedule” function works strictly when it wants), so sorry about that. As you might imagine, this is a slow pre-holiday news day in any event. But here’s what I’m able to serve up from here at the Denver International Airport:

* Hamas/Israel cease-fire announced by Egypt (with HRC present) despite heightened tensions over Tel Aviv bus bombing.

* In home-town op-ed, Boehner vows to continue efforts to “repeal” Obamacare via congressional obstruction. Think stopping this crap should be on the table in the fiscal talks?

* Event held at White House to acknowledge Transgendered Day of Remembrance for victims of hate crimes. Sorta doubt that would have happened had Romney won on November 6.

* Krugman calls Republican intellectuals and pundits who “seem” open to change: “professional seemers.”

* New exotic sport: Romney-spotting

And in non-political news:

* Grinnell basketball player scores 138 points in a single game. Hit 27 (in 71 attempts!) treys..

Back after a flight status check.

    Romney at Disneyland? Is he friends with Disneyland owners too?

    Ed...

    The Grinell basketball player was 27 of 37 from 3 point range. The 71 was his total number of shots from both 2 & 3 point range.

    I guess not the biggest deal but it's "transgender" not "transgendered". "Transgender" is a perfectly fine adjective. GLAAD has a pretty good style guide for media entities writing about LGBT issues that you might find useful. http://www.glaad.org/reference

    HELL NO.

    Why should they get something odious in return ?

    It won't fly in the Senate and Obama would veto it even if it did.

    Tell Boehner to go take a long walk off a short pier.

    The Israeli RightWing just isn't accustomed to anyone they're oppressing actually fighting back.

    Good to see that he is human. Can't stand his positions, but he seems to be a loving dad/granddad. But it would be nice to be able to bring the whole family for extended vacations (last 5 years). Money, money, money.
