Another song emerging unbidden from my unconscious upon arising: Desmond Dekker performing his ska classic, “Israelites,” reportedly the first international chartbuster out of Jamaica.

    It's been one of my favorite songs since I first heard it over 40 years ago! Someday I'm going to look up the words and figure out what the hell he's talking about.
