Thanks to Rick Scott for making actual news of a positive nature. Still think he’s a horror-show, but glad for a moment. Here are some mid-day news/views items:
* Lindsey Graham places total death count via U.S. use of drones at 4,700.
* Scary WaPo piece on extent of Chinese hacking of DC organizations.
* Barone says fight over who picks GOP Senate candidates misses systemic weakness of Republicans in candidate recruitment.
* Hagel picks up another GOP Senator, Richard Shelby.
* AFL-CIO and Chamber of Commerce reach limited agreement on immigration reform.
And in non-political news:
* Another big, vicious midwestern winter storm. Nope, no climate change going on.
Back in just a few.

Surprise, surprise. The people that are making our computers and components are hacking us. What do you suppose they are doing with the other technology we are GIVING them?

Wait, I thought "horror-show" was a term of approval.

4,700 kills with drones. Assuming that's at all accurate, I'd like to know an honest breakdown of just how many were, "Oops, wrong people"; how many were "suspected terrorists"; and how many were really confirmed terrorists or combatants. It would also be interesting to get a best guesstimate of how many new enemies were created along the way in the first two instances, but I don't expect we'll ever see the actual breakdown on any of this.
