February 27, 2013 1:28 PM Lunch Buffet

By Ed Kilgore

Very busy morning, eh? There’s more on the way, including a post on Erick Erickson’s halting, apologetic call for fact-based conservative reporting. But here are some mid-day odds and ends you can arrange into cool patterns on your plate:

* Bob Woodward burnishes his late-career emergence as a conservative hero by calling Obama’s willingness to comply with the sequester “a kind of madness.” Tricky Dick must be rolling in his grave.

* Meanwhile, Obama summons congressional leaders to White House for Saturday summit on sequester that many Republicans are already denouncing as a “photo op.”

* Adding her usual calm voice to national political discourse, Sarah Palin claims federal government “stockpiling bullets” in case of “civil unrest” after inevitable debt default.

* Tenth Circuit panel holds Second Amendment does not protect right to concealed carrying of firearms. See? They’re disarming patriots before “civil unrest!”

* Senate Intelligence Committee scheduled to vote on Brennan nomination tomorrow. Guess we’ll then see if Democrats concerned about drone authority follow party-line, and whether Republicans mount another filibuster.

And in non-political news:

* Whoa, Nelly! Ikea horse-meat scandal spreads from Swedish meatballs to sausages.

Back after a vegetarian lunch.

You know I'd think that even republicans would get sick and tired of the never ending crisis mode that they want us to be in 24/7. It's so completely transparent as a strategy to basically screw things up just to make Obama look bad.

Of course they are. We have this thing called the US Army, who use these things called guns, which use bullets in their operation.

Geez, but we dodged a bullet of our own (nationally) in 2008 when this woman was kept out of the Presidency.

If you've read the book Silent Coup, you know Bob Woodward is a spook with a Naval Intelligence background before his overnight success as a "liberal hero."

Amazing to me this shock about Bob Woodward. For 30 years he's been peddling BS - Greenspan was not a Maestro, Bush didn't speak in complete sentences nor confidently lead a War effort, and Powell was not a brave voice of reason. Yeah he broke a big story 40 years ago - that was fed to him.

But since then all he's done is peddle insider BS and gossip written as it were the "truth". But it's not - nor has it ever been. It's just garbage and he's never really understood any of it. He's just like Will, Scarborough, Cohen, Dowd, etc.

It's not amazing that he's proving once again to be a know-nothing. It's what he's always been.
