Don’t know why, but I felt like listening to sea chanties this morning. Here’s Stan Rogers performing “Rolling Down To Old Maui.”
UPDATE: No, Blue Girl, I didn’t hear Fresh Air yesterday. I’m assuming from your comment they had a feature on sea chanties, but my sudden desire to play one was entirely independent. Guess us elitists do think alike.

Damn. I now have a sudden urge to run out and sign onto a Norwegian whaler.
Usually, Stan Rogers makes me want to defect to Canada: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz6vU1iSA0k

I always get a kick out of Garnet Rogers' comment that Stan could get seasick walking on wet grass. He loved the sea, but the seasickness was strong in him.

I never knew this was an old sea chantey, but I've always loved the song. And check out the two old coots singing it :-)
