March 20, 2013 2:29 PM Hey! Bummer!

By Ed Kilgore

So we learn today from The Telegraph that the armored limo the President is using in Israel broke down this morning en route to Jerusalem because someone filled its fuel tank with diesel oil instead of gasoline.

Hmmm. That used to happen to me from time to time back in the 70s when I had to move trucks around as part of my job with Ryder Truck Rental. But it was invariably because the guys working at the fueling station were really, really stoned.

Hope we aren’t about to experience another Secret Service scandal. That would be a real bummer.

    OH NOH'S!

Now, they can add BenGASi to the list of that KenyanSocialistFascistCommunistAtheistMuslim Usurpers list of international screw-ups and cover-ups.

I can see "The Two Amigo's, and Their Amigette" calling for hearings, and saying, "Isn't this just like the President - to blame another country for his own administrations failings. HE WAS RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF GAS THAT VEHICLE NEEDED. IF HE DID KNOW, WHY DID HE DO NOTHING ABOUT IT? AND IF HE DIDN'T KNOW, WHY NOT?
Now, he'll blame America's best pal, Bibi and Israel for this fiasco! He has sunk to a new low
    Break out the subpoena's!!!"

I cannot help but think that there's a Hummer joke in here somewhere

  • CarlP on March 20, 2013 3:52 PM:

Surprised by that. I think in this country the internal feed tube on gasoline cars is narrow compared to a diesel fuel spout. Oh well. Maybe those stoners are still out there.

  • boatboy_srq on March 20, 2013 4:27 PM:

but but but doesn't the WHOLE world run on gasoline?

  • Robert on March 20, 2013 5:29 PM:

Putting diesel into a gasoline engine is not as bad as putting gasoline into a diesel engine...oy, the problems...

  • Crissa on March 20, 2013 11:13 PM:

I thought that's why each fuel had a successively larger nozzles so that wouldn't happen? And the fuel was labeled on the gas cap?

I know older vehicles didn't... But.

any comment about the absurdity of flying the POTUS limo to Jerusalem? Don't you think that Bibi has one he could use?
