May 16, 2013 9:05 AM New Commenting System!

By Ed Kilgore

So as some of you may have noticed who looked at the Daylight Video post, we are inaugurating a new commenting system today that eliminates the use of Captcha (which did keep us free from disabling spam) and adopts DISQUS, a reasonably common system (it’s used by Mother Jones, for example). You sign up once, and then can comment pretty quickly on any site using DISQUS. It also enables replies to other comments, and in general looks a lot better.

So give it a test drive today. If there are bugs, our techies will fix them. And thanks for the patience as we figured out how to make this change, which we’ve been talking about constantly as long as I’ve been on board (and well before that, I’m sure).
