Before announcing its decision in Shelby County v. Holder, the Supreme Court released rulings strengthening the hands of property owners in regulatory disputes with government, and protecting the right of adoptive parents in disputes arising under the Indian Child Welfare Act. All three decisions today were made by 5-4 margins.
At the end of today’s session, the Court announced that tomorrow would be the term’s final day for the release of opinions. Check out Katelyn Fosset’s primer on these two cases at Ten Miles Square.
