July 09, 2013 4:12 PM Action on Immigration Now! Kill the Bill!

By Ed Kilgore

Verily, my cup runneth over. On the heels a fine day of schadenfreude after reading Marin Cogan’s piece on Bobby Jindal’s descent into political hell, the Louisiana Governor himself pens a column for National Review on immigration reform that is a self-refuting masterpiece.

Entitled “Botching immigration again” and subtitled “It’s time to get something done,” Jindal’s column rants and raves for a thousand words or so of boilerplate right-wing “populist” invective against dysfunctional Washington before endorsing the boilerplate weak-tea “enforcement first, citizenship maybe never” right-wing immigration platform. There’s so much heat that it takes you a while to grasp that Bobby’s relentless demands for action on the immigration front are all in the service of ensuring that nothing happens on immigration reform any time in the near future.

Act now, today, yesterday! Kill the bill! Refuse to compromise! Ensure nothing happens until there’s a conservative super-majority in the Senate and majority in the House and a real conservative—not somebody like that RINO George W. Bush or that super-RINO Marco Rubio—in the White House!

Yes, it’s another flash of lightning from the Super-Brain of Baton Rouge.
