July 25, 2013 6:29 PM Day’s End and Night Watch

By Ed Kilgore

It’s been a fun day, what with Mark Sanford and Paula Deen and a right-wing JournoList popping up. Here are some remainders:

* President in Jacksonville tells Congress to “stay out of the way” of efforts to revive economy.

* On House floor, Steve King rambles for 22 minutes before repeating and defending his comments—attacked by John Boehner among others—suggesting many DREAMers are drug mules.

* At TNR, Jonathan Cohn aghast at Koch-financed effort to convince young people not to get health insurance under Obamacare.

* At Ten Miles Square, Seth Masket discusses the reasons for John Hickenlooper’s new image as a raging liberal. I still think shifting definitions of “liberal” are contributing to the change, but Masket makes some good points.

* At College Guide, Daniel Luzer suggests growing practice of unpaid internships part of the reason students going into deeper debt.

And in non-political news:

* Madison Square Garden gets eviction notice, but has 10 years to figure out new site.

To close the day, here again is John Lee Hooker, performing “Boogie Chillen” in Berkeley in 1992.

Selah.
