In looking for Hawaiian steel guitar music yesterday, I accidentally reacquainted myself with one of its most fascinating spinoffs: the “Sacred Steel” tradition of African-American Pentecostal praise music. Here’s Bishop Wayne White performing “Train” at Higher Praise Ministries in Detroit.
