There’s not a whole lot of political news out there today (or at least not much we haven’t already addressed here at PA), but here are some odds and ends that might be worth your time if you aren’t cooking or eating or watching football.

* The New York Times’ Linda Greenhouse has a good summary of what is and what isn’t at stake in the contraception coverage mandate cases the Supreme Court has taken on.

* I am thankful to be apparently incapable of the kind of bottomless hatred that infuses every sentence of what seems like Victor Davis Hanson’s 3,000th column on the evil coastal elites ruining America.

* Mike Huckabee’s 200-station daily radio show, designed to compete with Rush Limbaugh, coming to an end.

* TPM’s Daniel Strauss has the lowdown on the recount of the VA Attorney General’s election apparently won by Democrat Mark Herring. Odds of Mark Obenshain winning a recount are low, but we won’t know for sure until mid-December.

* Politico’s David Rogers offers a thorough dissection of disagreements—on ag programs and on SNAP—that are still holding up the long-stalled Farm Bill.

And in non-political news:

* Schwarzenegger flick among top box office “turkeys” for 2013.

Here’s Bob Dylan performing his great song about kindness and gratitude, “Shelter From the Storm,” in Prague in 1995.
