December 14, 2013 8:52 AM Morning video: Sam Seder on the War on Christmas

By Kathleen Geier

It’s December, and you know what that means — the War on Christmas is back!

To celebrate, I’m posting this great clip from 2005, in which Sam Seder went on CNN to debate the War on Christmas — then in its early stages — with the head of Concerned Women for America, a man (about which, whatever). I almost feel sorry for the clueless, pudding-faced Concerned Women for America dude — a classic boobus Americanus type straight out of H.L. Mencken or Sinclair Lewis. The poor man came to a battle of wits unarmed.

But since neither he nor the CNN interviewer reveal any discernible sense of humor, I think it’s fair to say they got what they deserved. Enjoy, and merry Christmas happy holidays!

UPDATE: Commenter ChristianPinko notes that contrary to what I said, the interviewer does show signs of a sense of humor. S/he is correct — I’d misremembered the video.
