By Ed Kilgore

Looking forward to SOTU live-blogging with such trepidation that I took a brief preemptive nap this afternoon. Tomorrow I’ll suspend blogging mid-afternoon and then resume when the hoopla from Washington gets underway.

Here are some remains of the day:

* Coburn, Burr and Hatch unveiled new conservative health care plan that looks somewhat more credible than the usual crap. More about that tomorrow.

* Brian Beutler has a sort of unified field theory of Republican extremism, not all that different from my own.

* Trouble in Foxland: Greta Van Sustern unloads on Erick Erickson for being a “repeat offender” in insulting women and “a such a jerk.”

* At Ten Miles Square, Michael O’Hare really, really dislikes the U.S. Olympics team uniform designed by Ralph Lauren.

* At College Guide, Conor Williams reminds us of the Lanham Act, a World War II law that provided support for near-universal child care for women in the workforce.

And in sorta non-political news:

* McKay Coppins deplores the high standard for Mormon Fatherhood displayed by Mitt Romney in a new documentary.

That’s it for the day. Here’s one more bit of Lennon, with the Plastic Ono Band, performing “Cold Turkey.”
