I don’t tend to make personal New Year’s Resolutions, but understand that many people find them useful. January 1, moreover, is as good a time as any for politically motivated folks to focus themselves and make realistic plans for the year ahead.
Emphasizing the word “realistic,” what do you suppose the president’s plans for 2014 should encompass, beyond the basic duties of the Commander-in-Chief? How important is it to the rest of his tenure as president that his party hangs onto control of the Senate? Are slow but steady improvements in the economy the key to a revival of his approval ratings, or is it more about perceptions of the success or failure of the Affordable Care Act?
On this Extra Lite Holiday Blogging Day, I welcome in the comment thread any thoughts you have on appropriate New Year’s Resolutions for Obama, for Democrats, or even for Republicans. And if you have any particularly amusing or instructive resolutions for your own selves, we’d like to hear those, too!
