March 28, 2014 11:26 AM Boehner Annexes House Floor

By Ed Kilgore

Yesterday Martin Longman discussed the low comedy of the House GOP leadership’s ploy of adopting an unpaid-for “doc fix” measure via a sudden voice vote in a sparsely populated House floor. He also reported some of the sputtering rage from conservatives taken unawares.

But my favorite reaction, from a report by the Daily Caller’s Alexis Levinson (h/t Jim Galloway), was from my favorite wingnut, Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia:

Georgia Republican Rep. Paul Broun was more blunt: “I consider it a step backwards for democracy,” he said in a statement to TheDC. “This Putin-esque behavior is an example of why I voted against Boehner as Speaker of the House.”

Broun was so mad he forgot to blame Boehner’s actions on Barack Obama’s weakness.
