Week before last I linked to a piece by Paul Waldman at the Plum Line on how to improve the Sunday Shows, which I was all for even though I virtually never watch the damn things.
But now Waldman is claiming partial victory because just yesterday Meet the Press featured a discussion of health care policy—not between two “party strategists” or Hill Hacks, but between TNR’s Jonathan Cohn and National Review’s Avik Roy, two of the most respected and influential journalistic wonks on the subject.
Why didn’t someone tell me this startling event was happening?
Before you get too excited, be aware that Cohn and Roy only appeared for a single five-minute segment. But here it is:
As Waldman says, “Meet” deserves credit for getting ten-percent less awful, at least on one Sunday.
